Why? So that I can create something even better than APPLE.MOV which will be cooler and funnier. Hard task, I know, but check out what I've learned so far:

Note that if I made an actual youtube video it wouldn't be all pixeled like this .gif animation.

I remember messing around with Flash in like, 5th grade. You can do some pretty interesting stuff in it nowadays, simple 3D graphics and so on.

All right, check this shit out. I've got the beginnings of a background for one of the scenes.

It took a while to learn how to use gradients. The clouds were imported from Adobe Illustrator, so I'll probably be learning that at the same time as flash. It's hard to understand but the more stuff I make the more I learn.

Do you know if there's any freeware for making flash stuff? Because I've never had any luck with finding such things and I'm flat broke.

Thats dithering.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dither

gif images only use 256 colors.
If you use a standard pallete of colors, full rainbow and enable dithering you get what you got.
If you have an optimized pallete, 256 color indexes are filled with the colors actually in your image, it will look better.

So if you have some check boxes
6. do not turn on dithering
7. do not select "web safe"
8. select "exact" or custom for color pallet

With dithering off a gif will compress to smaller size.
