I buy Poland Spring water at the supermarket in 1 gallon plastic containers, $1.00.
Its spring water from Maine.

I had a small job back in the 90's to design some office space inside a Poland Spring bottling plant in MA.
I saw they had mouse traps inside, all along the exterior wall.
They told me they also had traps around the outside of that wall and around the perimeter of the property line.
So they had 3 lines of defense against having mice poop in my water.

Filters won't really do anything against viruses or bacteria, you would need like, 50 micron size gaps there, and you'd have to replace them much more often.
