Entering an alliance is the boring alternative to annexing.

The third alliance has been sapping Immortal Maniac Beer stocks for years now, in addition, we have Oktoberfest.
Also, If it's manslaughter you're looking for, the RIN has been known to raze whole planets, seed them with Trans-Red ore, and then crack the planet in half a few years later to harvest it, just because that planet's diplomat looked at the Uberkaiser funny.
