The Alliance fights, not for unity, not for peace, but for the knowledge that absolute conquest shall lead only to demolished empires and the quenching of war itself. That is not a power or a status we wish to have any hold, and the Immortals threatens to take it for themselves.
Once, the Federation was on the side of the Immortals, for who would not wish to burn through their long-standing enemies with full brunt of a galactic invasion on their side? It was thought to be a pure pursuit, one that would prove the power of the FELC for a time withstanding time.
And then came the first action of the Immortal War- the Fall of Fico. The complete destruction of one of the most powerful, feared, and warmongering empires was secured, and as the Immortal guns finished burning the last of the atmosphere from the planet, many of their allied vessels could only watch, stunned. This was power, the ultimate of it, the cleansing blade of an uncommon justice- one that wished to bring all of the Briksphere under it's single domain.
There was a shift, a break in the lines. And then, scattered throughout that unearthly fleet of many empires, lured here for the promise of war and given annihilation, turned, guns blazing, against the myriad Immortal warships. The Federation's ships were one of them, and with that change of heart, they have since been forced back to their core of worlds, held against an almighty war machine- but still fighting, still at war, and not giving up that flame until the last spark does rise from their homeland.
Long may the Anti-Immortal Alliance blaze.
