I'm glad you've found a picture of something that people only ever do to Canadian flags, it makes a very powerful statement of how bad Canada really is.

And if you read the canon about that, it ends really, really, badly for the US, and almost starts a civil war in the US, but then a plague goes through and kills most of Denver. Mainland USA is our pants, Alaska is our Michael Jackson glove, and Mexico is our shoes! Without all of them, we'd be kind of lonely and undignified. With them, we look pretty good (and stylish!).
