Another slice of gold from Brothers Brick, it would seem that a Builder out there has figured into making a play-worthy, non fragile transforming starfighter/necha that we could all reverse engineer for our factions if we so wanted.

The problem is as of this moment flickr seems to be having a tizz-fit, but the moment it re-emerges from the depths I am thinking of building a Scythian fighter along these lines just for sheer shits and giggles - I've been a massive Macross fan for years, original series, 7, Dynamite 7, Zero and Frontier - and I have always wanted to build a vertiech of some type, but they where always too damn flimsy to play with . . . hopefully this design has solved the damn problem.

A couple forum members have stuff like this built.
I've got a transforming fighter/mech even, but the transformation sequence only involves switching the feet around to become rear thrusters, and the rest of the ship stays pretty much the same.

Dr. x made one long ago, and take this with a grain of salt, but I might post the copy I made of it.

Another guy has built more starfighters using that frame.
This one is probably his best work so far. I'm really looking forward to see what Scythe makes with this frame.

The fighter is complete, going to take pictures shortly - in the meantime I so totally want to build a Scythian version of this -

I'm also probably going to build a few of these. Especially since my army's theme is stolen tech.

Those domes only come in red in one set. It's from 2011 though, so you might have a hard time finding it in most big chain stores.
If you want, you can get some in trans-light blue if you want to make it look like energy rather than armour.
Here's the Bricklink page so you can have a better look.

That build is insanely bad ass. I want to build one so as to have a mega-drone.
