Bricklink wanted list

Postby Apollyon » Sun Jul 13, 2014 7:04 am

Is there an easy way to ceate a .xml file for Bricklink from an Excel/OpenOffice list in order to mass upload parts to a wanted list?

I don't have LDD.
What i do have is a parts list in OpenOffice and i need to convert it to .xml which i can use to create a my wanted list in Bricklink.
What i do not know is how to convert the .ods to .xml

Thanks, i did that as well. I wonder why this is so complicated. I could try to use a tool i just downloaded but it seems to be easier to enter all 307 entries manually rather than learning how to create a xml file.

Uhm, that was the fist link that came up in my search as well but i thought it was a scam, i.e. accepting the terms means i have to pay an insane amount of money hidden somewhere int he tos.

I just look up the parts and bookmark the pages.

The link works btw but the resulting file needs to be heavily edited. Best skip the xml part as i had already thought.

So Zamzar worked? cool.

Did the xml not work because it didnt fit in with Briklink, or was the file just a mess in general?

The output is nice but it does not fit with Bricklink. What it wants is this:

Code: Select all
<INVENTORY>
    <ITEM>
        <ITEMTYPE>P</ITEMTYPE>
        <ITEMID>3622</ITEMID>
        <COLOR>11</COLOR>
    </ITEM>
    <ITEM>
        <ITEMTYPE>P</ITEMTYPE>
        <ITEMID>3039</ITEMID>
    </ITEM>

</INVENTORY>

And what i get from Zamzar looks like this:

Code: Select all
<Records>
  <Record>
    <Row
      A="ITEMTYPE"
      B="ITEMID"
      C="COLOR"
      D="MINQTY"
      E="NOTIFY"
    />
  </Record>
  <Record>
    <Row
      A="P"
      B="3957"
      C="Dark Bluish Gray"
      D="1"
      E="N"
    />
  </Record>
  <Record>
    <Row
      A="P"
      B="3612"
      C="Black"
      D="20"
      E="N"
    />
  </Record>
  <Record>
    <Row
      A="P"
      B="6048"
      C="Black"
      D="10"
      E="N"
    />
  </Record>
