If you look at the big cruiser, it has four "cheese wedge" window pieces -- two together in the front, one on the top rear, and one on the bottom middle. The top and bottom windows are observation windows, and the front ones are used for flight control during docking and other close maneuvers. Combat is handled from a bridge in the middle of the ship. Also, none of my frigates have windows. In a real nuclear-powered spaceship, MOST of the crew compartments would be in the very front, because that's farthest from the radiation-spewing drive in the back. They wouldn't have windows, though.
Just one random act of violence can brighten your day. Especially if it involves explosives.
