Holiday Spirit Contest -- Ends at 12:00 AM TODAY!

Post by Theblackdog » Sun Dec 07, 2008 8:32 am

Disclaimer: I am half Jewish and half trianglist, and celebrate both holidays. I don't intend for this to be a serious insult to anyone.
The goal of this contest is to build something that best combines the gleeful destruction of Brikwars and the love and good cheer of your winter solstice holiday of choice. Entries can be whatever you want -- an army of bazooka-wielding elves or Santa's space battleship or anything in between. If the contest entries are about equally balanced between Dioramas/vignettes and MOCs, I will split them into separate categories. Deadline is January 1st at 12 noon, to give you some time to build with the pieces you got in your Manly Santa Day presents. Judging will be by poll thread.
It's only slightly less sacreligious than a Manly Santa Day sale of M-rated video games.
Here's some very minor inspiration to get you started. I built this a year ago, and it is *NOT* a contest entry.

Hmmmm, I'll see if I get some inspiration.

No guarantees, though.

OK, if all we have is 1 entry and 1 maybe, I don't know if we can do this. Maybe next year.

Ok, I didn't read any of the big fat paragraph in the body of the topic, but I made something that combines the spirit of Brikwars withe Holiday Season.

Image
I made it for my sister as a gift, but when I saw this thread I snapped a few quick pics for some awesome. It's made from an old airsoft gun, completely gutted (except for the battery) and then I just added some festive Manly Santa Day lights in place of the barrel. Also, it really works.
I think those stats only apply to non-Mexicans.

It's a LEGO building contest, though that does have sufficient awesome. Depending on the number of entries I may or may not let you enter it.

Fail. Fix, please.

Doc X, awesome as usual. How long did it take you to make that?

Technically you never said it was a Lego building contest, only that you had to build something that showed the carnage of Brikwars and the cheer of the holiday season.

I say yes!

I did this once before, I have a santa minifig from a advent calender in like 05, and I played brikwars with my little cousin whos hero was a light saber wielding santa.
Glory be to the Bomb, and to the Holy Fallout. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be. World without end. May the Blessings of the Bomb Almighty, and the Fellowship of the Holy Fallout, descend upon us all. This day and forever more. Amen!

I might join this, I have a few ideas. No promises though. Growing up with my brother taught me to never make promises.

That's pretty depressing.
