not worth it

Postby mr.duckie » Sun Jul 18, 2010 8:35 pm

as a lego universe beta tester, i do not recommend pre-ordering it.
as the release date quickly approaches, this game is far from completion.
there is only three combat areas ready, and you can play through each of them in an afternoon. i don't think paying 100$ a year is going to be worth it.
at least, until they add more content.

mr. duckie, I'm pretty sure they will finish the game before they release it. Did you even think before you typed? They will add more content and it will be worth it.

Wasn't that nice of mr.duckie to create an account just so he could come on here and inform us that he is a beta tester and the game will not be worth the money?

I mean no company ever has held back content from the public beta testers, so of course he has seen everything they have ready now. And what an honorable person to try and save us all our $35 pre order dollars thus also saving us from receiving the minifig as well.

Just gotta love this guy.

Monthly fees? that puts me off things Immediatley, furthermore, The minimum requirements (when I checked ages ago) is 3 GHz. That really means that unless your using a Games console as a computer,if you have a computer good enough to run this game, you should have enough money to pay for LEGO universe as well.

Is a 3GHz computer that expensive? My computer's got a pair of 3GHz CPUs and I bought it in 2003! I figured the average PC would be like, 30 GHz by now.

Dude, I don't even know what that is. Comic book? Other than the obvious meaning of the actual word. Maybe Shogun has been reading me?

That can't be right. My processor is 2.2 GHz, and it runs fine even at the max resolution.

Here, I've found the actualsystem requirements.

Also, the beta will be available for Macs soon.

Can my PC run LEGO Universe?

Minimum System Requirements:

Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 (32- or 64-bit), with the latest Service Packs or updates
CPU:
Intel Pentium® 4 1.3GHz, 512 MB RAMBUS
AMD Athlon™ XP 3000+ (Barton) 2.167 GHz
512 MB RAM (1 GB RAM with Windows Vista and Windows 7)
5 GB of HDD space
128 MB VRAM DirectX 9.0c and latest video drivers
The low-end cards for each of the major manufacturers are:
NVidia GeForce FX 5700 (LE not included)
ATI Radeon 9600 (128MB and 256MB versions)
Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950 card.
DirectX® 9.0c and latest video drivers
DirectSound compatible audio hardware
Browsers supported:
IE 7.x
Firefox 2.x
Flash 9.x
Broadband Internet Connection (256Kb per second or higher)
Minimum video resolution: 1024 x 768
For a complete list of supported video cards, see http://support.legouniverse.com

well, they have about a month left until release, so they better get to work.
they released a trailer, and they didn't show any gameplay that i haven't seen. i doubt they are keeping entire worlds secret.

so far there is just:
tutorial level
level where you get your weapon and learn combat.
hub world.
pet world.
ninja world.
pirate world.
and a couple of minigames.

and btw, a "welcome to brikwars" would have been nice. you better get used to me, i plan to stick around for a while. i mean this in the nicest way possible.
see! i ms painted an avatar! a militant duck!

Just a suggestion: I would not wait for a "gee a new member" group hug. I would also suggest that you adapt to their ways and get used to them. It will save you a lot of booty bothered.

Of course that is just my opinion.

Perhaps they'll open with only a bit of game play, wait 12 months until most payed subscriptions run out then put more stuff online, just so people re-subscribe?

It would have been nice, that's why it didn't happen. I don't know if you're familiar with the phrase "lurk moar," but if you were to do so, I'd challenge you to find anywhere in the history of brikwars where someone has been welcomed to brikwars in a nice or friendly manner.

I try to ban anyone who does stuff like that as fast as I can; I have a very low tolerance for nice people, and I don't need them sticking around.
