They're not any smarter or stupider than anyone else, but you've got to consider just how many people are involved here. China has something like five times the population of the U.S., or twice the population of Europe. Think about the number of bastards and dumbasses in the U.S. or Europe, and multiply accordingly. There's that many more people willing to do something stupid.

But I hate how quality felt at all. Some of my new torsos/bricks are cracked, and I don't like it...

If you are a big time collector then don't. But if you are buying it so your six year old son can have Darth Mall without you buying the costly set. Then I say it is good enough.

Hell he tore the head off and put it on one of his knights three days later anyway. He said it looked cool.

I hear ya man.

Ya know... I try to fall in to the elite collector crowd... I buy some super awesome set with a rare minifig. Next week I'm like "where the heck is this guys head and why is one of his hands missing?!" I find the head on a torso of the opposite sex wearing a knight's helmet, holding an M41A pulse rifle, and the hand is never to be seen again

Realistically I fall in to the "I just wanna have fun" crowd =)
