LEGO Log Cabin Add-On

Post by aoffan23 » Sun Jan 30, 2011 2:30 pm

I got two of the log cabin sets, and I always build any set I get before taking it apart and cannibalizing it for parts. After I had built one, I didn't want to just build another one, so I decided to add on to the set with the pieces from the other one.

This little scene has a cabin, and outhouse, a rowboat, a fire pit, a dock, and some trees and plants and stuff.

Image
I kept the original model pretty much the same, and built the rest of the scene around it.

Image
I furnished the inside of the cabin to give it more than just a fireplace. I added a chair, table, and a small kitchen.

Image
The kitchen area has some counter space, a sink, and an oven that opens up.

Outhouse.

Yes, there's a crapper inside.

Just chillin'.

Sorry for the crappy lighting, it was night time when I did this, so had to rely on my desk lamp for light. I would say I can take some better pictures later, but I can't because I've already taken this apart for a small project I'm working on. :D

What have those ducks been eating?

And dapper twin rowboat trip FTW!

Anyway, great work!

Nice job aoffan, I actually thought of architecture stuff like mini scale buildings when you talked about in the loot thread, still pretty good

Very nice add-on. ^_^ It makes me want to get a log cabin set... or two. ;)

Excellent work, and set. I tried telling Mini-Warhead this was a value for money set but would he listen, Oooh No! :son:

I want to get one of these myself so I can take pics of my Sig Fig family chillin' in the fresh air and us acting like a bunch of Maniacs blowing ducks up with massive guns and stuff.

Thanks for the feedback, guys! :D

@Mr Duckie: Luckily, I got $100 in Saturnalia money, so I decided to put it to good use. I've still got $300 or so from my part-time job, but I'd rather save it.

@BFenix: I'm not so good at microscale buildings, I prefer to make minifig-scale stuff to get the most out of the details.

@Warhead: Do it, that would be really really awesome. And yes, it's a great value for the money, especially once you see how many dark red slopes you get. I only bought two because you can't build anything substantial with just one, and I don't have a collection like yours to add to it.

I think I might have to get down on some of these sort of sets... I primarily buy for the figs or vehicles, so that when I want to make a fort or something it's fairly difficult with my collection.
It's a secret to everybody.
