The SR-X9 High-Altitude Recon Plane

Postby Dr. X » Mon Jul 07, 2008 4:07 pm

The SR-X9 High-Altitude Recon plane was created for the sole purpose of gathering information on the enemy, specifically the evil dumbfucks (This has nothing to do with religion, my brother is named dumbfuck and he calls his people the dumbfucks lol.). It was built with the latest stealth technology, such as special radar-reflecting black coating, shapes, concealed heat signature, and electronic sensor jammers. It flies miles above the dumbfuck's base, and takes pictures and sensor readings with the under-mounted camera.

And yes, it CAN fit a person inside.

*I apologize for the distracting backgrounds, again I wasn't thinking of teh internet when I took these*

The red window was the only one that would fit, and unfortunately it makes it look like a robot. It isn't. The pilot is inside, even if he is extremely cramped.

Image
The back. Any aviation nerds or even normal people might recognize this was inspired from the B-2 Spirit stealth bomber. And yeah, I kinda had that in mind when I built it. I saw those 2 black curve pieces, and I thought they would look good on the front of a stealth aircraft, and so that's the only reason this was ever built.

Image
The engines. Notice the red glow.

The bottom. You can see the camera/sensor infared thingy there too.

That's all folks, be sure to tune in next time for the M02 AfroJet and also a Prototype 6thG fighter! Coming soon to a subforum near you.

I think those stats only apply to non-Mexicans.

That is freakin sweet. Even better than your last MOC. I think the read window works nicely, though I understand what you mean by roboty. I have always loved stealth bombers/fighters, and this is one of the best Lego representations I have seen.

OSSUM SAUCINESS!!!

But..... can you put a minifig inside? Hmmm, guess not. I'm kind of OCD when it comes to making my vehicles minifig compatable only. There must be a cockpit for it to fly on the battle field. That way, when it gets shot down my pilot can do a dramatic escape from the vehicle. I also like to put compartments in the cockpit or on the plane so that my pilot can fend for himself.

Still though, I'm totally diggin the design on this thing. It has an original shape for a flying vehicle. I expected something pointy while the picture was loading. Kudos to you for your roundedness!

Apparently, a pilot does fit inside, though he's cramped. I'm also a minifig compatible only builder though, and always look for that in an MOC ;) .

Yep, a minifig CAN fit inside. There are even controls and a steering wheel. I almost never build a ship if it can't fit a minifig.

Awesome job. The colour is nice, and the round, sleek design looks real nice. You've certainly got a knack for aircraft, don't you?

Yeah, you could call me an aviation/aerodynamics geek. Recently I've been building a lot of planes, so that's what I've been posting. I do build other things, but planes right now are my most common.

Darn that's awesome. What are the rules for it -- does it have the same Targeting ability as scouts? Definitely a unique build, and I like how it falls somewhere between sci-fi and completely believable.
Just one random act of violence can brighten your day. Especially if it involves explosives.

J+B: unless that's yours, STFU!

Dr. X: Nice work. Wish mine would be that good.

Actually, it does. If this plane is near an enemy plane, base, or vehicle, all of his nearby vehicle friends within one room get +1 Missile Skill, Pilot Skill, and Missile Range.

In Shipwars, every ship has it's own stat card (there are almost no ship duplicates) with stats, diagrams and a special ability. Soon I'm probably going to post the rules for Shipwars (kinda compatible with Brikwars too).

And lol that's not J+B's, I've seen it before. It is a lot cooler than mine though.
