Mammoth Tank

Built for a Command & Conquer-themed brikwar with my brother, it's based on the Mammoth Tank from the C&C games. Not many moving parts, but the turret rotates. We usually play it with 4d10 hit points (instead of AV; every hit scored against it takes away from the remaining HP), which (in one game) resulted in a completely lame 16 HP. Stupid tank ended up spending most of the game as a roadblock. Still, it's definitely the biggest tank I've ever built and an intimidating presence on the BW battlefield.

It looks pretty darn impressive to me.

Can minifigs sit inside of it?

I like the hitpoints system, seems good for those who don't want to destroy their creations.
But, is there a tread missing?

Yes, there is. This is the work-in-progress photo.

No, they can't. We usually take off the fig's head and stick it on the turret (like he was peeking out of a hatch) to show who's inside.

Superdave, try using the ""s between the names, like:

I finally got to play my first Brik Wars game ever this weekend. We decided that vehicles should have hit points. The calculation that we used that seems both logical and fair was to use the following:
Size x Structure Level (or "Inches x Armor")

So, if your tank is 12" long and you chose an armor rating of 4d10, then your tank would have 48 hit points. When someone attacks your tank, they roll their weapon use roll. If they succeed, they roll damage dice and you roll your armor dice. You figure up the difference of the two (damage - armor roll), and the tank takes how ever much is left.
Just remember, however, that weaker structural points also have less hit points!

That sounds like a fair calculation. Unfortunately, most of the weapons we're using wouldn't do anything vs. 4d10 armor (in other words, there wouldn't be any damage "left over"). That's why we semi-nerfed the tank with HP instead of AV.

Yeah, I can understand the choice to do that.
Infantry will have a really hard time taking it down, but it's just a matter of how "realistic" you want that part of the fighting to be.

Tank armor is usually around 3d10. keep in mind that in brikwars, scaling up armor by one structure level is a drastic increase, and higher levels are only reserved for the elite armor.

for most modern machinery, armor levels go roughly as follows:

1d6 = flesh, canvas
1d10 = average car, most light vehicles
2d10 = armored cars and the like
3d10 = tanks, anything with heavy armor
4d10 = really really heavy tanks, bomb shelter bunkers
5d10 = Gods.

Erasmus: Yeah, infantry would have a rough time- and we didn't want it to be invincible.

IVHorseman: You're right, most tanks would be 3d10. However, it doesn't really get much bigger than a Mammoth (at least in C&C), so we went with 4d10 (but HP instead of AV).
