So I just reread OOTS, so sue me. First attempt at this sort of thing.

[It is not a SKIRT. It is a KILT. I am a MANLY SCOTTISH BASTARD.]

Nice, very OOTS indeed. If it's a Kilt then I suggest you wrap it up and over the shoulder lika a sash of the same colour, and fixed with a broach or strap.

Don't forget the William Wallace range's new "skin off your enemies back" belts (Wallace actually made a sword belt out of the skin of his enemies).

The story I know is that it was an English Lord who had been well known for skinning Scots that Wallace later captured. This captive died while he was being flayed alive and Wallace hung his skin from his belt.

I know a bit of Wallace lore. It's pretty frigging interesting stuff. Haven't heard of that one though...

At least Warhead likes it.

OOTS is such a great comic.

Y'know, Warhead, a Great Kilt is not the only kilt out there (that's the kilt that wraps up into a sash). In fact, the Great Kilt is for winter wear; normal kilts are for summer/spring garb.

Anyone else have an OOTS style request?

Yeah, true but it's winter.

Fair point, but if real world weather always had an affect on fantasy artwork...

But, if it DIDN'T always have an affect on fantasy artwork...

Ah, nevermind.

Great job, Ross, looks good.

Is Scotland though, it's always seems like winter, except in winter when the wet becomes snow. (Yes, I'm aware some of you guys get far worse winters).

Well, I've only ever worn the summer style kilt-

-wait. Perhaps that was ill advised to blurt out. Ah well, here goes.

I used to Highland Dance competitively in Scottish Games around the US. For you original Scots, certain cities in the US think Scots are so manly that they hire a field or two to host an enormous amount of tents, games and all sorts of awesomeness for a weekend of Scottish Games.

I won metals and trophies for kicking ass in the Sword Dance, Highland Fling, and whatnot. So I do know a bit about the kilt. The sporran would have just have been overkill, IMO.

:protip: And now you know!

Now I'm convinced Ross is secretly my sister.

Awesome! My Dad and I have kilts from Wolfstone Kilt Company (they were like $500 apiece) that we wear to the Maryland Renaissance Faire. Great stuff. It's basically five yards of fabric that we pleat ourselves and then have to sorta lay on and roll ourselves up in it like a burrito. Thankfully, we didn't wear it in the traditional fashion.
