I bought my first computer in 1983, an Atari 400 with external floppy drive $500.

I make a distinction between useful tech and useless tech. Of course it might be useful to someone, just not me.

Yeah, I can't live without my cell phone. Never use it for calling, but damn the extra features are helpful. Subway map, GPS, internet browser, decent camera, lots of games, a Kindle app so I don't have to carry around paper books....
