An idea.

Post by Silent-sigfig » Wed Apr 16, 2008 1:55 pm

An idea for a battle. I call it: Mine wars.

Players:2+

Teklevel: Any.

Backstory: A large deposit of minerals has been found, so a few companies set out to exploit it. At first they got along fine. But then, when the minerals were running low, it was time to get a monopoly, If you know what I mean.

Layout: a large maze, most main tunnels are wide enough for large vehicled to traverse, but a few can only fit figs.

Teams: Each team is 300 cp, and each has one mining machine(large vehicle) such as a backhoe, driller, gringer, ect.

The Brickquest dungeon layout would be perfect for this.

For that you need much pieces. Unfortunately, it is not my case. But good idea.

I'm building the walls out of DUPLo. Also, there will be several open areas with oil derricks and mine carts in them.

something you could explore is the "blind labyrinth" idea.

basically, build a maze all well and good, and then once you're done, build a layer of briks, plates etc. on top of the maze to cover it up completely, blocking it from sight of the players.

start minifigs out in any entrance point, and remove the cover that you built over it every time minifigs get near, to simulate the exploration of an unknown cave/maze. you could go from that and say that minifigs can see a certain set number of inches away to remove briks.

Byt the large areas are not covered and"on the map".

Another thing is laying out random traps and such things. Pits, spikes, cave-ins, it's all good.

I like the idea. Half could be open area, half could be a labyrinth inside a cave. Each team has a "harvester" they need to both mobilize and protect in order to win. It has a nice post-apoco taste to it.
