it's actually pretty normal, I'm part of a forum with over 10,000 users and MAYBE a few hundred of them actually post.

Then there could be 3 times as many people viewing (or more) that never sign up.

This is actually a good thing for games like WOW. Imagine if 2 million US players posted everyday. That place would be even crazier than it is now.

A lot of people get accounts just to lurk; it lets them use the "view posts since last visit" button. That's fine with me; no reason to want people to post if they don't have anything to say.
