Hello everyone! This is the first forum RPG with my new RPG system, Arcanum.

It will be run by me, as I am currently the only one who has the rules, although I may put them up for download later. There are 5 spots available, and I promised Coximind one if he wants one. Other than that, It's first come, first serve. I made 5 premade characters, or you can make your own. I will handle the inventory and stats for make-your-owns.

Info:

Stats:
AGI: Dodges, footing, balance, acrobatics, etc.
STR: CC Attack accuracy, sometimes used as a cc damage mod, lifting things.
DEX: RC Attack accuracy, sometimes used as an rc damage mod, holding on to things.
CHA: People skills(befriending npcs,etc) mostly useless in the dungeon I'm using.
INT: Magic Attack accuracy, sometimes used as an magic damage mod, searching, recalling info.

Leveling up:
when a character gets enough xp, they level up.
leveling up gives players new skill points which they can use to improve their stats (explained later), and sometimes new abilities.
players spend skill points on individual stats, becoming stronger in that area. each skill point is +1 to that stat. if a stat has enough +1 bonuses, it grows a step.
To grow a step, a skill needs to have as many +1 bonuses in that stat as the last step.

d2(not used)>d4>d6>d8>d10>d12>d20
so, to grow a step from d4 to d6, you need d4+2.

EX: sir george just leveled up, and has 3 skill points. he wants to spend these on INT (1d4)
he spends 2 points, which means INT grows to 1d6. He can then spend the remaining point to make INT 1d6+1

Elf +2 AGI, +3 DEX
Graceful warriors that align with a certain element. Skilled with a sword and a bow.
Classes: Ranger,Warrior,Mage,Rogue,Paladin,Cleric,Monk,Geomancer

Hume +2 STR, +1 CHA
Humans.
Classes: Ranger,Warrior,Mage,Rogue,Paladin,Cleric,Monk,Geomancer

Dwarf +3 STR, -1 AGI, - 2 DEX
Short, strong warriors of the south. Live underground. Dislike magic. Hate greenskins.
Classes: Warrior,Paladin,Cleric

Drahl +2 AGI, +3 STR, -3 CHA
Half-demons. Powerful Magic users. Devestating attacks with a sword.
Classes: Warrior,Mage

Sentinel +2 AGI, +2 STR, -3 DEX
Half-angels. Healing magic. often use swords or maces. limited flight.
Classes: Ranger,Warrior,Mage,Paladin,Cleric

Kameli +3 AGI, +1 INT, +1 STR, -2 CHA
Related to elves. Darker, often assassins, use some dark magic, and daggers.
Classes: Ranger,Warrior,Mage,Rogue,Monk,Geomancer

Halfling +2 AGI, +1 CHA, +2 DEX
(Hobbits) Short folk, agile and sneaky. often mischeavious.
Classes: Ranger,Warrior,Mage,Rogue,Paladin,Cleric,Monk,Geomancer

Salzar +3 AGI, -2 CHA, +2 DEX, +1 STR
Lizardfolk. generally hated. use scimitars. dislike magic.
Classes: Ranger,Warrior,Rogue

Katta +3 AGI, +2 DEX, +1 INT
Quiet, sneaky folk. Tendency towards kleptomania. (Thanks Coximind)
Classes: Ranger,Warrior,Mage,Rogue,Geomancer

Make your own:
Give me a name, a race, and a class. Also, give me one stat you want to be 1d6, all others are 1d4. (Plus modifiers.) I will handle the rest.

If you lose all your hp, you die.
If you don't post actions for three turns, I will find some way to kill off your character.
If a character dies, another can join.
No fighting each other.
This is a semi-serious game. No chainsaws, lasers, or anything outside of a medieval fantasy genre

Not a fan of legitimate roleplay, are we?

Should you really call it a "roleplaying game" if Charisma is "mostly useless"? If befriending NPCs, intimidation and Diplomacy, and like actions are "mostly useless", then really this is just a combat simulator with ambition.

edit: Not that I don't like the rules, it's just... why'd you even include it if it's "mostly useless"? It makes no sense.

Sorry, didn't explain it right. For the dungeon I've built, there are no friendly npcs, so CHA is mostly useless in the context of the dungeon.

Abilities: Double Strike (3):
(3) means it costs 3 mp to use.
The ability lets you do combat damage twice this turn.
Eg: 1d4 damage (knife)= 3 damage
double strike: 1d4 damage (knife)= 2 damage

Basically, you attack twice with the same weapon, or two weapons.
