Post by RunsWithLegos » Sat Aug 21, 2010 7:28 pm

i have dicided that Syder Comm. Deserves it's own thread.
SYDER COMMUNICATIONS

A Large[5 systems under it's complete control, and 140 client systems] Mega corp that provides cheap[ish] and [relatively]fast interstellar communications to who ever want's it and has the credits to afford it.

The Military branch of Syder Communications is used to defend, and take, points of interest to the Megacorp.

Syder Comm deploys the durable Grink-MK3 hardsuit to silence particularly bothersome setbacks.

flexible, capable, and deadly. the MKVI combat drone is all of these and more. with a rudimentary AI, Uplink to the BattleNet, versatile chassis, powerful legs, and varied weapons systems the MKVI series can tackle almost any challenge. From infantry support, to anti tank to mobile artillery
the MkVI series does it all.

VENTMEAR Transport

The Ventmear series are the work horse of SyderComm's space operations. spacious, well armored and powered by the reliable and powerful MkV helio fusion engine. though the weapon systems are not the best they get the job done. With a off loading ramp and two side doors troops can exit the ship with surprising speed for the amount of them in there.

I really like the drones and would love to have the LDD file for them.

Well done.

Dropbox is made for sharing
Its free for 2GB
You need to DL the software and make an account.
You can give permission to people to access folders that you give out a link to.

I have not used this yet, but looks interesting.

If you look through that last link
http://wiki.dropbox.com/TipsAndTricks/HostWebsites

If you know how to do that, it might be the easiest way for other people to grab the file.
You just need to make an html file and put a link to the ldd file, then post the link to that web page.

Well I had some time to mess with DropBox.

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10454876/How%20 ... folder.rtf

That file is in my DropBox Public folder.
It describes how to make a file into a link you can dump in a forum post.

Hotlink example from the Public folder.
I just right clicked the file on my computer>Dropbox>CopyPublicLink
Super easy. You can't do this from the Photos folder, just Public.

I do not claim credit for that hardsuit design. That belongs to cyco-destructo. I do however, claim full credit for creating it in ldd, for purpous of instructions and looking cool. carry on. For some reason I thought warhead did the dezine. weird...

A tip for the drones:

The legs look awkward the way they're positioned. One thing I would suggest doing is changing the arrangement of the legs from a + to an x. To do this, either put a 1x1 round under the body of the drone, or replace the 2x2 plate with a 2x2 turntable. The latter would make it a bit fumbly in real life, but it would have the added function of being able to turn like a turret for quicker adjustments.

I propose we all pitch in a couple hundred dollars so this stuff can become reality.
And then we can watch it all get destroyed.
