Hmm, yeah actually, but since they rely on new rules I doubt you'll have them just lying around. The Mechanik section is a little light on photos right now, but I could use:

6. A Mechanik building a new creation out of rubble
7. A Mechanik putting ridiculous patch repairs on a damaged structure
8. A Mechanik using his Disassembly power to pull parts off of an enemy structure

Chapter 8 is going to need a lot more pictures too, but I need to review it again to remember which ones.

Regarding some of the photos earlier in the thread:

They need to be:

6. yours
7. in focus
8. large enough to print (say, at least 600px across)
9. but also clear enough to look good shrunk down to web size (say, 200px across)
9. not blasted out with brightness/flash, or grainy from insufficient light

So far I've used a PILE of Warhead's photos, since almost all of them satisfy the above requirements perfectly.

Caption- anyone could have there Mechanic dissemble the enemy's car, but it takes a true brik warrior to have there Mechanik dissemble the enemy.

Ha ha, those are hilarious, I was wondering how long it would take for someone to think of Disassembling living creatures. But Disassembly requires the Mechanik to have a Tool and uninterrupted access to the target, it's hard to believe the victim here wouldn't try to interfere or run away.

Although... man, that gives me a great idea. Warhead has a good photo of j+b tied up and surrounded by Hos. If I want a photo of "uninterrupted access," that's the one to use.

Krus' photo of the Peach in chains would work well too, and make the book less of an all-Warhead showcase.

Hey Krus! What's the story behind that photo? Remind me who the characters are in that scene.

Does a crutch for a mech count as "Patch Repairs" for a missing leg?

I give you: MechaCrutch

Image

An Al-Kind-of mechanik comes across a downed Walking Tank in the middle of a jungle warzone. It's missing a leg. a small pile of rubble sits around it, amidst the bodies of Al-Kind-of soldiers.

Image

Ta-da! a makeshift crutch to hold the wobbly mech! not a permenant fix but enough for now.

:ftw:

EDIT: Hey stubby, I have a question about the repair rules. Can you repair propulsion systems? If so, how well do they work? Full speed, half speed?

Ha, MechaCrutch is hilarious. The first photo is good for presenting the Mechanik and the scenery, and the second is good for presenting MechaCrutch, but neither shows all the elements clearly enough to be usable by itself. If you could do a shot that combines the best elements of each photo then it'd be good.

The crutch isn't a Patch Repair in the official sense - Patches are built onto the surface of a Structure to repair Size Damage and reinforce Armor. But what it is, is a good example of Field Construction instead.

The repaired mech would be able to move at full speed, but the crutch would only have 1d6 armor and you couldn't use it for jumping.

Those are all good scenes, but only the first one is going to be clear when it's shrunk down to 200px.

Edit: I've added this to the bottom of chapter 7, take a look and make sure you're fine with the captioning.

Living creatures tend to fight back or run off when you try to Disassemble them, making it hard to get any work done.

Lt. Krus avoids this difficulty by making sure his Peach prisoners are properly restrained before harvesting their body parts for throne-building.

I retook some pictures ot fit into the Disassembly category.

Image

You don't always need heavy weapons to take down a mech...

Image

sometimes tools and the disassembly of a limb work too.

Damn you people and your decent cameras. :fu:

I would love to help with the pictures, stubby, but my sister took her DSLR, broke the regular digital one a while back, and if you've seen the pictures I take with my phone... ugh.
