Star Conquest Development/Top Thread

Post by Olothontor » Sun Oct 24, 2010 10:43 pm

A'ight, folks. As I said at the end of Gearwind, I'd be starting up something a bit grander in its place.

Here it is.

Now, for those of you who want to play a game without reading a wall of text, READ NO FURTHER. For those of you who enjoy this, feel free to contribute. I've begun the rules document, although so far it's a short introduction and a table of contents. You can find it here.

It will obviously get much longer. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, post them here.

Note: The 4 player spots are not yet open, so don't post about reserving a spot! You WILL be ignored if you do so.

EDIT: Update No. 1+2+3

Added a bit of racial info this morning. More is planned for today.

All 4 of the playable races are now at least vaguely outlined. Feel free to put up some more suggestions, I tried to cover all of the stereotyped bases.

Also added information on the "terrain" tiles found, and the use of Australium within the game.

This looks interesting.
Often, literally, a pillow fight but may include similar situations like volleyball, particularly when wardrobe is skimpy and the action is bouncy.

YOU MAY NOW SIGN UP FOR A FACTION.

First come, first served. There are four slots open, one for each of the major races listed in the rules on Pastebin.

I'm opening up the sides now in order to get more user feedback from you guys, hopefully those of you who know you'll be participating in it will have more of a stake in the outcome of the backstory and rules. Expect to get a PM once you've signed up asking some questions about what kinds of things you'd like to see.

Remember, if you're not willing to actively participate, please don't sign up for a spot.

I apologize if any of you who expressed interest do not get a spot in this run. Please keep in mind that once the rules are done, anyone is free to run a game of Star Conquest. I'll even post the sprites for free use.

This sounds VERY interesting, sorry for not responding on Steam Olly, but I was at school...

Anyways, I would gladly choose the Carmanathii

Awesome, just the Wengu remain to be taken.

To the rest of you, PMs are in progress, so keep an eye out for those in your Inbox.

I've gotten a couple of complaints already about the... ambiguity of the game's inner workings. While I hope that the embellishment of the rules will taper this a bit, I'll probably draw up an "example round" once I have both the sprites and enough of the rules written to do so.

Just a heads up for those of you who are confused about this. I apologize for said confusion.
