DSM Civil War! (Featured Post!)

This is my first battle report :D

>>Mission /START/

Image
"You are clear for landing...we look forward to recieving the package, over"

Image
"Understood. Over and out."

Image
"I did exactly what you said. Will you let me go now?"
"True, you did well, they suspect nothing. But your usefulness to us is at an end."

Image
*BLAM!*

Image
"Commence the assault!"

-----

Image
On a seemingly insignificant asteroid, the Deadly Space Men are running a mining operation for energy resources. The Futurons, another branch of the seemingly loosly dispersed DSM race, are seeking to attack their far more prosperous brethren.

Image
Their target: Hydrogen 3, the incredibly powerful element found only on the surfaces of barren atmosphereless moons and asteroids. A single tank of it is enough to power half a city, let alone a small army of murderous minifigures.

-----

Image
Yellow excitedly awaits the freindly merchant who will bring the monthly shipment of weapons, beer, and other goodies.

Image
"Hi!"

Image
"Oh..."

Image
*BANG!*

Image
Futurons start pouring through the airlock...

Image
Black somehow misses a point-blank shot

Image
His yellow friend does not, killing the only other DSM in the crampt room.

Image
The Black DSM, their leader, noticing the gunfire, rallies his troops to ready for battle.

Image
He and the red Spaceman both grab Orange Transparent Chainsaws and move down with the others to cover the external airlock.

Image
The whites, on their lunch break, quickly finish up

Image
The armed one moves to cover the door whilst the other makes a dash for something else...

Image
A parked hoversled!

Image
The DSM ready response fire...

Image
Yellow jumps out of his vehicle, eager to aid in the coming fight.

Image
Overview

Image

Image

Image
*BANG!*

Image
The first futuron is quickly mowed down by the blue and yellow spaceman's response fire.

Image
Blue is then quickly dispatched by the next futuron.

Image
Who is in turn killed as well.

Image
He falls down to the ground in a pool of flash-frozen blood, the air violently sucked out of his lungs into vacuum.

Image
More futurons continue to pour into the battlefield.

Image

Image
The DSM leader gets to the bottom of the steps.

Image
Red jumps into the relative safety of a pit.

Image
And fires, wildly missing any enemies.

Image
Yellow and white take up flanking positions, thinking it better to stay out where they can ambush the futurons rather than go inside and start firing point blank in a confined space.

Image
White gets into the vehicle and starts towards the killzone.

Image
The yellow one moves towards it too, whilst the blue continues to snack, completely oblivious to the battle that is going on like Bonn-o-Tron.

Image
As the futurons move out both DSM miss badly.

Image
Same story with the futurons

Image
The blue one pays for his bad marksmanship with his head.

Image
It lands somewhere a dozen metres away

Image
Overview (turn 3 I think)

Image
The futuron leader has an idea...

Image
*CRASH!!!*

Image

Image
He lands safely, and kills the rider of the hoversled.

Image
Red follows his example

Image
He attempts to kill the snacking Spaceman, but misses.

Image
Double kill by the futurons!

Image
The blue futuron attempts to shoot the yellow DSM through the window, but fails.

Image
Red leaps out of the pit for an attack!

Image
The OTC rips through the yellow futuron!

Image
The Deadly Spacemen leader follows suite, and rushes towards the enemy commander.

Image
And scores a kill!

Image
Unfortunately the legs stick onto his OTC...

Image
The blue Spaceman finally realises that that Red Futuron isn't just a friendly by-stander...

Image

Image
..And throws his lunch at him

Image
Somehow killing him!

Image
He picks up the dead futuron's weapon and starts towards the airlock.

Image
Another Futuron jumps through the window

Image
He fails in trying to shoot the blue DSM
...And then the yellow Futuron shoots the DSM leader

Image

Image
"I guess that means I'm in charge now!!!"

Image
*BLAM!*

Image
This one shoots and misses.

Image
Overview at this point.

Image
The yellow Futuron is shredded under combined fire

Image
Red kills another Futuron with his OTC, the last one to even make it out the door.

Image
The blue Spaceman kills the last blue enemy.

Image
The Yellow, seeing as he is the last one left, decides that there is no way he can win, let alone make a profit anymore.

Image
He surrenders, and the battle goes to the Deadly Space Men!

Image
Carnage

-----
>>Mission /EPILOGUE/

Image
"I was just in it for the money, seriously, I have nothing against you personally! Please, just, sh-sh-show s-som--"
"That's nice."

Image
"ARGH!!!"

Image
"Please, no, n-no don't d--"

Image
"ARH--!"
*VMMRIIIPPPPPPP!!*

-----

>>Mission /END/

Hope you enjoyed it :D

This was a very satisfying and awesome read, with a nice classic feel to it. Great selection of troops, theme and story!

What Zahru said, plus a remark for the good photography! That execution machine in the end was also cool.

You might notice the difference in quality and aspect ratio in the overview pictures, that's because I took them with a digital camera, and all the others were with the webcam that I use for Brickfilming, you can see it in a couple overviews, it's amazing for close-ups.

I didn't realize how strong Futrons were. This is an excellent report. :)

This was an awesome battle. Small and simple, but on a nice battlefield and with excellent photography. I look forwards to your next battle report.

Note to self- resize pictures, don't make more than one post. Perhaps more than one person will comment on my reports then. :(

An enjoyable battle and thankfully the DSM were triumphant against those Futuron poserboys. I has a sad the hoversled didn't get a chance to save the day, that set was my first ever set and is the most awesome vehicle in Lego existence.
