:ftw:

Seriously, read a Space Marine focused 40k book some time, were they mow down legions of traitorious guardsmen. Then read an Imperial Guard focused book and watch ten lasguns bring down legions of marines.

Novels are... pretty much the worst place to get accurate assessments of fictional bad asses. :P
It's a secret to everybody.

No, I have to disagree. starwars, halo, and 40k all have books that are true to the fiction but, in all said fictions, someone some where gets rights to wright a book and they eff up the story make it something totally wrong.

I see it happen all the time

I just went and replayed Halo again... and found that armory before the engine room for the first time. I've been looking for that thing forever... rocket launchers make that level so much easier.

She does, but I thought it was actually in the engine room. And the cloaked Flood scared the crap out of me... I was looking around trying to figure out where the noise was coming from, then I was freaking out and peppering the room with shotgun blasts.

"true to fiction" is an oxymoron if I ever heard one. If the texts collectively cannot agree on the "power" of these soldiers, then our personal opinions on the matter can't have much bearing on the discussion :/
