Battle for the Orange Transparent Ore

Post by NapalmKing » Sun Feb 27, 2011 5:53 pm

During one of the many conflicts over the precious OT a large chunk of the precious metal was blasted into space breaking out of the Iceworld's atmosphere and hurtling through space.
<a href="http://s1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars026.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars026.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
Recently though NSST scanners picked it up on their missile warning systems as it crashed on an NSST-HBTE contested planet, initial scans place it having 400 studs of pure military grade OT

<a href="http://s1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars027.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars027.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
<a href="http://s1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars029.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars029.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
<a href="http://s1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars030.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars030.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
Both factions have imediatly sent forces to capture this important military resource and neither can safely mine the ore until the other force is eliminated.

Each army contains 3 vehicles 3squads 2 heroes 1 elite squad Ham701 has 2 snipers and a medic I have 2snipers, and one of my heroes has a sniper.

<a href="http://s1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars031.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars031.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
The NSST moves 1st, everyone advances except for the hero sniper and another sniper, the tank and mech move to the right the infantry and archangel hardsuit move to the left.

<a href="http://s1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars032.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars032.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
<a href="http://s1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars033.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars033.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
Ham's turn was slightly more eventful he drove his truck up and unloaded his men who blew the turret off of the tank, he then finished my tank off with his larger tank.

<a href="http://s1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars034.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars034.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
Next his battle bugy drove up and shot one of the riflemen.

<a href="http://s1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars035.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars035.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
Retribution was swift.

<a href="http://s1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars038.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars038.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
His peach marines then shot at my wrights but acording to peach tradition they failed only killing 2.

<a href="http://s1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars037.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars037.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
The wrights response fire rolled a crit succes with a bazooka and hit with multiple rifles killing the entire peach squad.

<a href="http://s1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars039.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars039.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
Ham then destroyed 2 of my elites with machine gun fire from his tank's turrets.

<a href="http://s1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars040.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars040.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
This was one of Hams snipers before he crit failed, he then picked up a rocket launcher and blew himself up :D .

<a href="http://s1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars041.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars041.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
The blackhawks came up and tried to kill the archangel but couldn't break its armor 1 crit failed.

<a href="http://s1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars042.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars042.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
The HBTE elite grenadiers then unloaded from the tank.

<a href="http://s1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars043.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars043.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
The hero on top of the tank inspired the black hawks to take another shot at the archangel.

<a href="http://s1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars044.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars044.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
This time the harsuit was destroyed.

<a href="http://s1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars045.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars045.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
The NSST came back destroying the squad that unloaded from the truck and blew the main gun from the tank.

<a href="http://s1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars046.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars046.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
<a href="http://s1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars047.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars047.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
The siberean riflemen then took down the blawkhawks.

<a href="http://s1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars048.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars048.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
Ham then had his truck ram my mech distrupting it knocking it into the OT.

<a href="http://s1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars049.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars049.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
Another Sniper failed killing himself.

<a href="http://s1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars051.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars051.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
The NSST riflemen moved up and shot the general off of the tank.

<a href="http://s1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars052.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars052.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
The grenadiers killed the tank losing one man to a crit fail.

<a href="http://s1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars056.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars056.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
The space marines lose most of their men in a shoot out with the HBTE elites but manage to kill all but the hero.

<a href="http://s1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars058.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars058.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
The truck was killed by the mech which had gotten back up.

<a href="http://s1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars057.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars057.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
The medic succesfully revived an elite.

<a href="http://s1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars060.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars060.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
Both the medic and the surviving elite redshirt for the hero.

<a href="http://s1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars061.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars061.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
The hero moves behind the tank for cover and kills an NSST elite but was then killed.

<a href="http://s1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars062.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i41 ... ars062.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
Victory for the NSST they now have sufficient OTO to equip entire squads with Orange Transparent Weapons.

Very nice battle. Though the NSST has to be careful with all that OT ore; it may be infested with the corrupting power of the Nega-Verse that's encroached nearby. ;)

I thought the use of Nega-terrain was quite effective.

Excellent battle report with some very nice shots there; I might suggest, since the armies don't seem to be wholly uniform, that you intersperse a couple more "Overwatch" shots throughout the report so that the reader has a fuller sense of what's going on throughout and which team is doing what.

Yes, relative to some battles. Large relative to others.

Sorry that was the word from my comment you chose to focus on. :|

He must not be familiar with ZZD.
Nice battle, fairly small-scale but in a good way, and large enough to impress.
