MAOX AMS "Blackwind" Battle Cruiser

Post by BFenix » Tue Mar 01, 2011 12:07 pm

You didnt really thought I would build this army without a space fleet to back it up now did you?
For the grand (micro scale) finale, I present you the MAOX "Blackwind" Battle Cruiser. The back bone of the imperial fleet. (Also from 2009)

Image

Its an overall balanced ship, yet it excels in firepower. It is found in most situations, from exploring, to defending, to assaulting! Even in planetary invasions the BW is found either defending the orbital deployment ships or sending troops itself.

Image

If taking it on on long ranged space combat is a pain, with its pack of Heavy Laser Cannons, you can't even imagine up close and personal, right when facing the threatening and deadly Impact Batteries.

The back of the ship, were you can clearly see the shield projectors, main and secondary engines. (I gotta start making those engines prettier with some TO)

The ships front, noticing the Long Range Sensors Array.

A good shot at the whole vessel. The hangars are located bellow the bridge, at the middle of the engine section. In case the ship is destroyed or must be abandoned, the bridge module can detach from the main body as a rescue option. You can also see one of the two twin linked Ion Cannon Turrets mounted in the ships hull.

Hope you liked the last demonstration of the basic MAOX forces, future designs are currently being worked on for the rising level of quantity and quality of the Immortal War.

GORGEOUS. Great job here, very reminiscent of Homeworld and SoaSE.

I bit too many studs for my liking. Studs =/= greebles. But, again, that's just me being picky. The shape and execution of the turrets, all very good! Hope you do more of this in the future.

I love how you used curved pieces in your models, and this one has some great detail, especially the weapons. MAOX is turning into one of the most badass factions out there.

Much better than the puny NSST ships.

BS Yamato?
I was thinking along the lines that if Yamato had an affair with a Gamalon Empire capital ship then the love child was this.

Ahah, then this should be renamed to "Bastard Son"
