The Biggest Reported Battle Ever: where?

Post by pesgores » Tue Jun 24, 2008 1:35 pm

Where? Does anyone know a site with a battle with LOTS and LOTS and LOTS and LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of units? Like, seriously, at least 1000 soldiers for each side?

Reported with photos, if possible?

Some huge historical event remake?

WHAT? WHERE? WHO?

PS: I love big battles.

Trogdor: http://home.earthlink.net/%7Ejoecomeau/Agot/agot0.htm

Studfest XV had hundreds of units, but Ozbricks is no longer hosting the Studs stuff.

The "biggest" battle? I'd have to say NELUG's PARV scenario ( http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=146054 ). It featured a massive, multi-story rolling fortress which one team (composed of minifigs, a couple vehicles and hovering robots) was defending and the other (minifigs riding various modified post-apocalyptic vehicles) was trying to capture. There's no commentary though, so the action is hard to follow at times.

I'm planning a medieval camaign with about 320 troops; by my count, the Trogdor battle only had a total of 200 figs. On the one side, we have 120 Crown Knights and a peasant levy of about 30; on the other, we have the Undead/Mercenary/Black Falcon/Generic Bad Guy Horde of around 170.

Carefully matched sides? Bah! Color-codedness? We don't need no steenkin' color-codedness! Attention spans? Well...

I just really hope that I can persuade my camera to work (and someone to play the other side). The Dark Hordes shall meet the Crown Knights, and at least $1,000 worth of minifigs shall be slaughtered in the most brutal and hilarious fashion. Coming soon to a topic near you.
