HELLZ YEAH!
Late celebration, doesn't matter, got my hands on the MXR Fullbore Metal pedal! And my bud bought his Korg Mini Pandora for overall guitar FXs and digital recording!
Im telling you guys, these little fellas are a beast! Mainly my pedal of course. But seriously, I gotta make a loop of just the distortion diving in, blows your head off.
So, today we finished classes and tested our new gear right away using the Pandora and Audacity 1.3 Beta program, results were quite good for an uncoordinated amateur jam session. You can listen to the crappy sound testing and overall frequency, volume and noise adjustments made while playing if you click the link: http://www.mediafire.com/?0x2a9r1yquqq0oa
Now we are working in our covers, originals and coops (yes your song is included here Olly), expect some stuff soon!

Olly, I worked a bit on lyrics for "Through Every Storm". I know your setting was more of a stempunkish sky armada, but I deviated a little, if thats ok. These are still just a few roughs, not even worked on the tune although its more or less in my mind...
Away sailed the chosen
To the unknown seas
With scattering thoughts
Of whom they're bound to be
Temptation and Dreams
In their hearts are sown
Back to platinum shores
Through Every Storm
As they ride the storm of ages
Their light seizes to be
It runs down extinguished
Conquered by the sea
Forever, in siege
By the oceans of the world
The true fire burns on
Through Every Storm
So, what do you think?
Away sailed the chosen
To the unknown seas
With scattering thoughts
Of whom they're bound to be
Temptation and Dreams
In their hearts are sown
Back to platinum shores
Through Every Storm
As they ride the storm of ages
Their light seizes to be
It runs down extinguished
Conquered by the sea
Forever, in siege
By the oceans of the world
The true fire burns on
Through Every Storm
So, what do you think?

Besides the spelling mistake, it's alright.BFenix wrote:Olly, I worked a bit on lyrics for "Through Every Storm". I think I may be able to help. I'll throw up some tabs of what I've got running through my head, if you don't already have a riff in mind.BFenix wrote:Oh, actually we're aiming for a soft one in Through Every Storm. Perhaps a simple riff with some "soft" distortion or something but definitely nothing to heavy.Olothontor wrote:Oh, sweet! I like it, I look forward to whatever you guys do with it. I'll do a softer cover of it, haha.
http://pastebin.com/F4T3C16e There you go. I play it nice and slow, with emphasis on the two lowest notes in the arpeggio. See how you like it (I'll record an example of it, if you like).

Re: BFenix's Garage Corner: UPDATED 18/Aug
The Fall of Fico WIP
A tribute, requiem-thing about the Fico's fall and BFenix's "betrayal"
CHARGE!
The invasion begins, dark ships cloak out of nowhere
Swarms of deadly machinery blacken the sky
Say your last rites, Fico, you are mine!
ETA- RIGHT NOW!
Soldier's boots hit the ground
Massive treads crawl the fields, their death casting out
Hearts, pumping loud await at the Red Walls
TROOPERS!
Our time is now! The Red Wall must not fall
Unleash your anger down their ranks
Feel your weapon's furious pound
*battle ensues*
An orange transparent sight
Lit up Fico's night
As the bodies of fallen
Burn
Out on the silent fields of hate
Many met their fate
As Immortals roared
Gloriously
But while victory was heard
And spread through out the land
All but one
Lay down in thought
As he heard their people cry
As he saw their children die
His, Heart of steel
Got soft

dark ships cloak out of the darkness- kinda lame and messes up the flow
Soldier's boots work better than Warrior's boots.

Agreed on the second critic. Fix'd.Keldoclock wrote:dark ships cloak out of the darkness- kinda lame and messes up the flow

As for the first one, it really depends on how your singing it and in what tempo, it is also supposed to be a fast and heavy version while it slows down after the battle.
EDIT: Oh right, slow fuck, dark-darkness. Nevermind. Also fix'd, thanks.
