He also has an army of chariots, epic Wyvern riders, tree ents and fire mages! We should totally let him know of Brikwars!
Wow, even a modern Brikwar army would have trouble with that...

They got them well before they went up to $30 on Bricklink. Good call, I'd say.

I made some of those to but couldn't come up with some good stats.
What stats do you use?

For critters I normally use zero armour (if hit then automatically dies) and a " hand weapon ".
EDIT: and skill of 1d6 and movement of 3.

or you could make them unbreakable squads of like four or five, then give them the stats of a minifig :?

While I think this is nto a bad idea, for me, I like the idea of a buch of weak smashabl items in a swarm rather then a single "figure" that is made up of a swarm.

But I am sure either would work. :D

well, that was the first idea that I came up with, just because it is a lot simpler than a whole bunch of smaller enemies. also, then cp cold be combined as well, it would make fielding a lot of these much easier

I was sure we cooked up some good swarm rules last year, but all I can find is this: http://www.brikwars.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=5516

BW2010 is getting new rules for Vermin units. Like the Cannon Fodder units, Vermin have Damage 1 and Armor 0 rather than die rolls - any hit will kill them, so swarming will be essential to survive and stack enough damage to do any good.

My current thinking is that any regular attack will kill them only one at a time, but area attacks like flamethrowers and explosions will be an almost guaranteed TPK. Because of their tiny size, most units won't get Counters against them in Close Combat, but they can make attacks against the swarm size rather than the individual Vermin size for determining attack modifiers.

In my playtests I've been putting them in squads with minifig units to serve as cheap damage sponges and to pile on skill penalties from multiple CC attacks, while the minifigs hide behind them and dish out full weapon damage.

I might add some kind of balancing factor in later, for instance to say that once a target is getting swarmed, any successful attack against either the target or the swarm automatically hits them both. (Naturally the swarm is exempt from hitting itself though.) This'll make it a little more costly to have combined squads of Vermin and regular minifigs.

Can't wait for swarms. I have 30+ ants, spiders, and scorpions at the ready.

Thanks guys for the kind comments, and MicVash for starting the thread.

Also, yes we are actually Siercon and Coral :) we've had our eye on this site for awhile simply cause I used to play massive battles with my friends... unfortunately it was to the tune of thousand minifigures and moving them and coming up with rules was just daunting. So when I get time, or just slowly over time, I'd love to learn how you guys do stuff around here! Also if people are in the area, shoot me a message I'm up for learning in person, and can bring like 6 or more people (all fantasy medieval).

Lastly, I tried digging up the receipt for the elephants when i got them, but the best i can find is it was sometime before 2005 and around 5$ each. Yeah i got lucky...

Glad to be here, and hope to get to know some of ya better!
