I figured I'd post this in here, since I briefly mentioned my job earlier. The camp that I'm helping teach at this week is a basic computer course for kids, and that includes making a basic website with HTML. There was one young fellow (10 years old, I think) who was looking up LEGO on Google. Being a LEGO aficionado myself, I took a liking to the kid and I introduced him to a couple cool LEGO sites, including Brickshelf. A little while later, he waved me over, and he had something cool to show me. He started going on talking about this awesome plane that he designed and built himself, and when he showed me the picture of it, it was clearly an official set.

Yeah. I just disregarded it and went back to what I was doing. Next thing you know, he has a handful of kids crowded around his computer, and he was showing them pictures of LEGO mocs that he clearly did not create. I managed to find a picture of one.

He said that he got up at 8 one day and finished that at about noon. Okay, buddy. There was also a giant red house (which I'll try to find a picture of) that "he and his uncle" built together, and he worked on the windows and the furniture inside. It was even more annoying that a couple of the other kids were getting other kids to look, and saying how awesome and talented he is.

I hate kids.

It's extra annoying since they're just random pictures he grabbed of Google and Brickshelf. That's like me saying:

me too..... my mother makes me be nice to every kid in my neiborhood though. it is realy sad that the vast magority of 8 year olds are already fat and think that they are gangsta despite living in the state with the lowest crimerate

Not that Bonn isn't the right man for the job, but he needs some competition. And hey, why not have more than one moderator? I can totally see a battle between the mods changing the spelling of particular words in people's posts back and forth.

And fittingly... Four.

EDIT: A good moderator needs to know how to abuse his or her power without pissing anyone off too much. Also, I want a moderator that makes me laugh. Going into a topic and changing every instance of the word "fuck" to "fruit" for no good reason other than because they can is a good example of how a BrikWars moderator should act.

I would be hard pressed not to play along, and start asking him serious questions about techniques, custom color parts, and how he got LEGO.com to sell reproductions.

Sadly, that kid probably has a Charisma score high enough to get elected some office of authority by the masses. Democracy is survival of the dumbest majority.
