Tried it last night. Fairly sturdy. Don't go throwing them around, but they stay together.

Yeah they are surprisingly sturdy, I tried it with a few other horn types and for the most part they are pretty playable.

That helmet is pretty epic... would work well with many of the horn options suggested.
