I think those stats only apply to non-Mexicans.

I like the 2005 rules better as well. I don't want to have to memorize a bunch of rules and stats in order to play. I dig that my friends and I can just dig into a box, grab a handful of minifigs and weapons and start playing. The 2005 rules allow for more spontaneous creation as well because stats are just as simple as some quick measurements.

I much prefer the 2005 rules, they're easier to teach, and easier just to pick up and play, it means I can focus more on ridiculous explosions and slaughter that brikwars is about and less on a pile of dice.

I end up haveing to use 2005 because half the people in MNGG have attention span issues.

Yeah. I actually totally memorized the 2001 rules back in the day. i knew it all like the back of my hand. and then 2005 came out.

i was a little shocked that it was so much less full, but it's so much more flexible and more comprehensive that it's amazing. it's simpler, AND actually allows for greater diversity.

I prefer 2005 but everyone has their opinion. I'd rather play Brikwars than ruleswars. I good game is a fast one that is easily learnt by almost anyone. I have told some people the 2005 rules in 10mins and get them playing it and buying lego within a week. If I showed them 2001, it would be a very different story. Your there to play, not consantly refer to your brickbible.

I use the gameplay rules from the 2005 rulebook, since they're simpler and go faster. But most of my minifigs, weapons and vehicle stats come from the 2001 rulebook. I liked the wide variety of different weapons and troop types it provided, but the main thing is that the 2001 rules have higher vehicle movement ranges (36" as compared to 24") and longer-ranged, more powerful, more accurate weapons (an MKI gun does 2D6 damage and has a 20" range), which also makes the battle go faster. You don't really need to memorize the stats of every troop type and weapon, you just write down the necessary information on a stat card. That's what they're for.

That's a good idea. I play in my normal Brikwars with my own made up explosive system.

Also, you people keep saying 'we need to CONSTANTLY refer to the book'. Well we don't. In my last Brikwar, there was no referring at all, just a few pieces of paper and some stat cards.
I think those stats only apply to non-Mexicans.

I've only reffered to the rulebook twice in my life. Once to point out that there were no fifteen foot super-nukes, and once to point out the rule of fudge. Both times, I didn't actually show the book, but convinced them I was right anyway. In fact, I've never even shown the rulebook to any of the people in our clan... I think they think I made up the whole thing actually...

They actually don't know that the brikwars site exists. I've tried telling them to visit, but they're mostly stupid (I mean, c'mon, they're MY friends).

Yes. Basically I have to fudge everyone's belief in the rules in general...
