No because it going to be pretty buggy and missing some features like giant mushrooms so all the surprises will be ruined and you will have created a world that's missing stuff.

I was addressing the fact that they're close enough to release to actually put a bug testing world out there that has almost everything. 1.8 is going to be cool, not this specific pre-release.

Does that mean thay don't spread by themselves anymore? Thats a pity. Once you had a mushrooms farm, you could harvest them by the dozens. Esecially in SMP where they ceep growing when you are offline.

No, they still spread, just bonemeal turns them into giant mushrooms.

So, apart from the fact that my old minecraft file was wiped and replaced by a new one and that I am unable to move at all in anyway shape or form this is absolutely shit 'cause it didn't give me part of 1.8 anyway.
Well, some download or other did that, but y'know what I mean.
