Since in those times Portugal was under the tyrannic rule of Salazar, which Piltogg sympathized with, I'm glad we didn't. We did fought in WWI, but we sucked. Eventually the Ultramarine Colonial War broke out in South Africa, later of course, when WWII ended.
Oh and I have a few things I want to say to you guys about Portugal.
I remember you saying something like "What is there to like in Portugal?" Well, for the ignorant commoner, nothing, unless you heard about it or actually visited our little corner of the world. So consider this a friendly tip on what things were good at.
Food. We have great food and drinks. Meat, fish, vegetables, fruits, wine, beer. The whole process required to make a good dish can be found here, from the fields where the animals and vegies are developed, to the sea, to the kichens in the various great restaurants and traditional "tascas" spread through out the country.
Football. If there is something Portugal is known to be good at, it is for making great teams and coaches. (Football as in for Soccer, not American Football).
Culture. We are one of the most ancient countries in Europe and our history is superbly rich and diverse. Spanning since the Roman conquest of the world and before. There are lots of monuments and historical stuff pretty much everywhere, but I guess all of Europe is like that. There are also awesome natural places, mainly beaches. Practically a whole west coast of great beaches.
So, economically, we might be a turd, but as an actual country, there's no place on the world like it.

You see the "Torre de Belém" MOC? There is a headline left to it, you know what it says? "Portuguese woman leads the creativity of Lego".
