I guarantee that some heroes will be much better than others, I'm not overly worried about the balance. I expect them to change hands over the course of the game as they get killed and revived, hopefully several times, and stealing opponents' heroes should be a part of everyone's strategy. But I also expect that playtesting will expose a lot of holes.

I want to keep heroes from becoming too individually precious, so I want to keep steering towards the 2-per-18 ratio to make sure there's always a steady supply of them moving in and out of play. But 18 cards isn't really enough for a full game, so I'm leaning towards maybe some 3-per-36 basic packs supplemented by 2-per-18 specialized ones.

Yeah, work on that 3/36 pack first.

I was always assuming there would be a basic set.
I still think a basic working set with a single common victory condition is the way to start. Doing custom victories for heroes will be very hard to balance.

You can still have hero game effects as noted on the card, just the hero goal is ignored and the basic goal is used.

I find it useful to make an excel speadsheet.

Column headers
Card type, card name, quantity, cost, rules, comments, etc...
rows are the cards

Love the paint job, maybe just do simplified stuff for other cards for testing.
This will change alot, but I'm sure he doesn't mind testing, he is probably over 6 feet tall.
Now you stole my ideas.

You can put several towers on top of each other? Neat.

Once you have all the cards sell the idea so we can sue you for using our likenesses for profit! Do Warhead next.

That's the idea. There are a couple of heroes whose goal depends on building giant towers of a certain height, so it'll come in handy.

A friend of mine pointed out that the text on the hero cards was way too small when printed, so you'll notice I took it a lot bigger on the tower card. I'm not sure what to do about cutting down the heroes' text yet.

As much as it pains me to say: You have to shrink the image. Or you could delete the individual names for Goal, Streangh and Weakness. Either would be a loss.

I was thinking the stud icons on the Tower could be bigger too.

When I do things for print, I sometimes work out the pixels per inch.

So you know the card size and the size of the image you are working on.
Then you figure the pixels per inch.
Then if you want a 1/4 inch icon, you know how many pixels it should be.
See... aspergers is not only fun but useful. :rtfm:

Hero card text.

Option 1

Like joker and rule cards in a normal deck, you could make a card that has rules for the named hero skills.

Maybe 1 rule card per hero, or several rule sets on a card.

Then you only need the name of the skill on the hero card.
Possibly with an abbreviation of the rule.

Skill rules could be as long winded as you want.

If you do one rule card per hero you have the card turned, text would have more width.

Option 2
I don't have an option 2

( Its ok for Options to stop at 1 )
