Bits of skeleton and half-burnt corpses in the more dangerous areas. You can never go wrong with minifig remains.

More buildings. Looks a bit like a minecraft construction at the moment... But it's going to end up looking quite cool, I can see that.

Or at least more detail. It's little bits of terrain & details that add character. Take this battlefield:

The trees & undergrowth in the foreground and the equipment on the roof of the building in the background creates visual interest. With that in mind, have a look at these:

Those were made for Mechaton, which is a different scale from Brikwars; but I think they're good examples of the kind of little details you can pepper your battlefield with to make it more interesting.
