And people say that video games are useless.
Re: Skyrim
I was wondering when a skyrim thread would show up. I was going to wait for Wednesday since that's when I get it (birthday present). Totally being a dark elf mage tank, possibly with a kickass beard.

I'm just a generic Nord warrior-type dude, although I now know quite a few spells as well.

Re: Skyrim
In Morrowind and Oblivion the chioce of your race or starting profession didn't change much and nothing in the ways how NPCs react to your character. Bethesda wasted much potential there. Did they do better in Skyrim?
I never finished any of the two. I lost interest some hours befor the final showdown in both cases. When I started to replay Oblivion, I realized that you are not awarded for quests properly. Often all you get is a "thank you" from one of the NPCs and often not even that. And since I already had enchanted glass armor, tons of gold and many stats maxed out, there wasn't much left to achieve and I stopped playing that minute.

Re: Skyrim
Isn't helping people it's own reward?
My copy of skyrim currently resides in my friend's house, but when I did play it was as a badass Argonian gish of doom. Race affects interactions somewhat, but not very much, mostly just greetings and a handful of race-relations quests. You can't choose your starting profession- you are Dovahkiin and you start the game as a prisoner.

I'm playing an Arogonian Battle-Mage-Thief-Adventurer guy.
It's pretty damn fun.

Re: Skyrim
I need a new graphics card in order to play it on my PC, so I'm gonna opt not to spend a shitload of money and get it for console. Yeah yeah, PC master race, I get it.
