Killing Time (Round 1)

Post by Bragallot » Mon Dec 05, 2011 5:33 pm

Wolfpack

Image

The soldiers outside raised their guns and got to higher ground.

Image

The posts at the windows were taken.

Image

A load of firepower was laid down on the Inquistadores below, but damage rolls were abhorrent.

Image

On the other side, Wolves opened fire on the Brittanians.

Image

The All-Rounders however protected themselves with their shields.

Immortals

Image

Four Terrorkhan took to the air, flying through the defensive fire and gunning down the guards on the wall.

Image

The rest continued on foot.

Image

A guard began to choke as Sharane approached, but his will to live won it over the Farce and he fired a frenzied shot in the general direction of the threat.

Image

The Immortal Colonel did well to step it wide. Meanwhile Seras concentrated on something in the distance.

Image

Did that chest just move? I could have sworn it budged a little...

Inquistadore Shock Troops

Image

The battalion swarmed the command centre as their leader made a mighty leap.

Image

He hit the window, shards of glass driving straight into his armour.

Image

Vinambre survived the ridiculous damage roll (26 on a roll of 2d6, wth) thanks to his nova sword, but is down to 1 HP :? Not quite how I imagined his entry.

Brittanians

Image

The Brittanians moved forward as one. Marshal Jones succesfully brought everyone in range. Wo-o.

Image

Apparently range bonuses help little if you can't shoot for shit. With a -1 to hit these guys fail to hit just about anything. One Wolf fell.

Fort Garrison

Image

Kommandant Von Blocke fired on the advancing Terrorkhan.

Image

He then jumped into cover, preparing a nasty surprise for the first enemy that would come through the gate. He also noticed his pistol had jammed.

Image

Captain Alexander did the same thing on the other side.

Image

The garrison rush to their positions.

Image

Those Jaegers who got in range laid down suppressive fire on the charge of the Terrorkhan.

Image

Two were knocked out of the air and killed, the long rifles defying the odds and beating the Immortals' armour.

Image

The VoL were not very impressed by the tower guards' laser pistols.

Image

The grenade launchers dude also attempted to help out. Well, at least he didn't blow up the wall.

Image

The defense guns fired, so far ineffective.

Moar bloodshed tomorrow(-ish).

The VoL

Image

The VoL Einherjar approached the towers.

Image

One guard was brainhacked, but he missed his shot against his allies. He will be under the VoL's control until the Einherjar is distracted or chooses to do something else.

Image

The one that failed was gunned down by response fire from one of the Jaegers.

Image

Three VoL Helsquad roared as they rained down fire on the gate.

Image

"MELT IT DOWN!"

Image

Despite his encouragements the gate held, but Leonidus II approached the gate with his OTC.

Image

The OTC turned the damaged gate to cinders, but meanwhile Leonidus II took a hit from the remaining response fire despite blocking some of the damage.

Image

Alexander then jumped forth and struck past Leonidus' parry, hitting the VoL leader square in the chest with his Nova Sword.

Image

The Helsquad roared in anger as their leader fell and rushed forward, but their short-ranged weapons didn't get in range just yet.

Image

One scythe-wielder angry-inched himself forward and closed in on Captain Alexander for the duel, hungry for revenge.

Image

Alexander caught the scythe on his laser shield.

Image

His riposte burst straight through the half-daemon's faceplate, killing him instantly.

The Assyrians

Image

The Assyrians bravely rushed out of the landing pad, firing their BFG's.

Skarr: "One shot, one kill!" Critical success, all Assyrian shots will hit. Wo-O.

Image

Three cyborg shock troopers and their lieutenant were washed away in an explosion of gore by the destructive firearms.

Image

The sortie of the Assyrians was what the Terrorkhan had been waiting for, but one missed and the other lacked power.

Image

"I will not die so easily... I... am... Leonidus!"

Image

"Graaaah!!"

Image

The blood rage taking over, Leonidus' demon self appeared. (+1 to everything, but he still only has 1 remaining HP)

Conquistadores

Image

Angelica ran and fired, followed by her lieutenant.

Image

A Wolf went down, gurgling on blood.

Image

With no targets in range, the Conquistadores went around, avoiding the Brittanians.

Still need orders for the Furbeasts and the Knights.

Anyone (except anti-immortal side players of course) can send me orders for the remaining factions right now, whoever sends first will be used for now.

This is perhaps one of the best battles I''ve seen in a while. Now I'm regretting not getting in on this...

Thanks. You could get in by sending me orders for the Knights. I've received those for the Tribes by now.

How so? I pretty much literally did what was in your orders, it's just not everyone got in range 'cept for Leonidus and the Scythewielder but there was no certainty they would fare so badly.

If I recall correctly, I sent three Helsquads before Leonidus. Although powerful, I would never let the hero go straight into the enemy force without protection or redshirts.

Yeah, but he outran them. I interpreted charge for melee as everyone should move their full move, sorry for that.

There's still a spot. Whoever sends orders for House Del Montero (the guys left of the VoL) first gets them.

House del Montero

(screw it I NPCed them. They're still available, if no one takes them I'll just incorporate them into the Conquistadores)

Image

Duke Felipe: "We're marching into enemy fire! Squad up! Shields in front!"

Image

The assault troops used their thrusters to leap towards the Prussian wall. One even made it on top.

Image

The Duke's feat failed rather badly, so his men lost their action squadding up and some move as well, but at least the basic attempt was a succes.

Indigenous tribes

Image

Chewbakka: "Aaroooaaaooroaaooroo!"

Image

Sadly for Chewbakka, his feat failed as well. This was unfortunate because his troops needed that extra move to cross the window in one go, and he had to go alone.

Image

Those that weren't too obstructed by their allies fired at the windows.

Image

One Wolf fell.

Image

Chewbakka struck another, but her armour saved the soldier.

Image

Using their comlink ability, two Wolves response-fired to his presence.

Image

Both critfailed, ripping their ally apart instead.

Image

Thinking he had won, Chewbakka roared a prayer to the dung gods.

Image

Wait, there's one more, and he showed how it's done. And he got an even more ridiculous damage roll which could have killed Chewbakka three times over.

Image

Yet two of his compatriots used their action to sprint-leap into the fray and were combusted instead.

Lab specimens

Image

Sir Bragallot fired a shot through the window. When he noticed nothing died he tried to fire again, only to notice the tank sniper had jammed.

Image

Disgusted, Bragallot threw the huge weapon away.

Image

Flamer climbed up the ladder to the battlements.

Image

Using his jetpack, he jumped down the battlements and rained down fiery death on the knights while staying out of their reach. Two men were cooked alive in their armour.

Image

Troll also launched his jetpack, using the added range in order to fire the destructive heavy bolter.

Image

A heavy and corporal were ripped apart.

Brag, what mode do you use on your camera for your Overwatch shots? They show a lot of the battlefield (which i would expect in normal mode) yet lots of details (like in makro mode)?

Two people had to redshirt? That's serious shit right there...
