Heard about it? It is the plague that congress seeks to unleash upon the internet. It would (probably) destroy YouTube, 4chan, and maybe even BrikWars despite our best efforts. Basically it's a stupid law that Hollywood and friends are trying to pass to prevent copyright infringement, but really they are a bunch of greedy assholes who don't seem to understand that we won't watch movies in a theatre because they are $12 and they fucking suck since they are devoid of inspiration and meaning. [/soap box]

tl;dr -- If you get the chance, call your congressperson and be like "don't vote for SOPA" and yea that's about it.

If a media company THINKS a website MIGHT be infringing on one of their stupid copyrights, the company can be like "yo, shut those suckers down," and boom -- your website gets erased from the face of the internet without so much as a court hearing. In Portugal's defense, they did kill alot of Africans back in the day.

Also, the Supreme Court and ACLU will not let SOPA pass. They've already tried this bill before under two different names and the Supreme Court shot it down both times.
