It's the 2004 version + the 1977 version. Enjoy!

Also if you stick it into an Xbox something cool happens.

That's the DVD boxed set that I have. I THINK the so called "original theatrical version" is the remastered version they did in '97, which is the first wave of the CG they added and stuff. I'll have to watch to make sure, but that's what I remember from my version.

It went:

Originals
1997 remastered and CG added, like CG Jabba the Hutt in A New Hope, new ending sequence in ROTJ, Greedo shooting first
2004 more CG added to coincide with prequels (like Hayden Christensen as Anakin at the end of ROTJ) and other random things

I believe I have the originals somewhere, but honestly I can't recall the last time I watched them. Still remember a bunch of lines from them though, funny how that happens. Personally, I think some of the adjustments they made were fine (like Anakin's remastering in ROTJ), but some are, as already pointed out, simply ridiculous. Though I don't understand why he doesn't just more on to the prequels and mess with them for a change, I'm sure he could find some 'improvements' in Phantom, or, even better, Revenge of the Sith.

Somewhere in my house I have a VHS box set of the original trilogy that was released sometime in between 1992 and 1997. I know this because it was acquired after I was born, but before the special edition. However, I can't find it at the moment to see that date on it. It has an interview with George Lucas split up into three parts and put at the beginning of each tape. It's like a 90's prequel to the special features on DVD's.
