Well I mean, we are more or less a crude cult that worships a book written by Him.

Pope John Paul II wrote:Although the teaching that priestly ordination is to be reserved to men alone has been preserved by the constant and universal tradition of the Church and firmly taught by the magisterium in its more recent documents, at the present time in some places it is nonetheless considered still open to debate, or the Church’s judgment that women are not to be admitted to ordination is considered to have a merely disciplinary force. Wherefore, in order that all doubt may be removed regarding a matter of great importance, a matter which pertains to the Church’s divine constitution itself, in virtue of my ministry of confirming the brethren (cf. Luke 22:32) I declare that the Church has no authority whatsoever to confer priestly ordination on women and that this judgment is to be definitively held by all the Church’s faithful (OrdinatioSacerdotalis 4).

So that's it. Anyone who believes in female ordination places themselves outside the Catholic belief. There is no weasel room on this issue. Your former priest might debate the pros and cons, but if he actually believes in female ordination then he is apostate, end of story.

Hmmmm, I swear I've seen something like this before.
But I don't quite remember where.

Woah woah woah. I'm not getting dragged into this stupid argument. Let the record show that I have neither claimed to be intelligent nor wanted to take a side in this stupid debate.

Nat, if you move this thread to thunderdumb I'm just gonna delete it. You should all be ashamed of yourselves.

Religions exist, and they will probably exist for many thousands of years.

The main problem is that people don't follow them properly.
If everyone actually followed the main points of their religion the world would be a much better place.
Things like being charitable to others and the prime directive: "Don't be a Dick".
But they don't.

My uncle is a great guy, but not because he goes to church every day.

Its because he volunteers to help other people.
Gives old people rides to doctor appointments, installs those "help I can't get up" machines.
His wife helps people get groceries and does their hair.
These are small things but make a huge difference in peoples lives.
But most religious people can't be bothered.

Most religious people are doing it wrong!

I just found that image today.

Seriously... The only reason I made that post was because I wanted to post the image somewhere. :)
