All of the time spent playing the X-wing series of games made the Rebel Alliance my favorite. X-Wings are the best!

Silverdream:

TIE Defenders are pretty kickass. But the Rebel stuff is better overall, in my opinion. I value quality over quantity.

I thought the empire had quality as well. TIE fighters are only one thing. What about the Imperial Star Destroyers, the Death Star, the fact that their troops are better armed, armored and trained, and AT-STs?

I thought that the only Imperial soldiers that were clearly better in every way than all Rebel soldiers were the ones in the 501st Legion.

There's a trope about this. It references the fact that the best troops in the galaxy spent five minutes in the opening scene of A New Hope shooting the walls.

-Hold overs from the Republic.
-Was blown up... TWICE! (Yes Spike, it can happen.)
-The troops mostly suck, their helmets often impaired vision, a large number of their blaster rifles got defective crystals, and the AT-STs were taken down by Ewoks...

Apparently, the only thing allowing the Empire to keep its military superiority for his short reign was Palpatine himself...
No, seriously!

Uh, most of them were clones...

Not the awesome Fett clones from the Clone Wars who were trained from infancy to be soldiers, but fast grown clones programed to believe they were conscripts.

Yes, because they were awesome Fett clones whose unit had existed since the Clone Wars.
Which is kind of ironic to see them in The Clone Wars series...

Don't try to pull this "expanded universe" bullshit on us, now...No one reads those things.

Imperial Star Destroyers are actually on a FAR grander scale than the shitty old republic ones. A few old republic destroyers saw usage as escorts and frigates, but ISDs and SSDs (like The Executor) were definitely way better in every single way.
