I just realized; I haven't shown any new creations since I got back from Basic! Anyways, I've been building quite a bit. Mostly civilian buildings, but here's something a little more awesome to show. ^_^ This is the Conglomerate TAV (Team Autonomous Vehicle). It's heavily based off Roc's (Thanks for the correction, Silent-sigfig) Armored Security Vehicle. The TAV, true to its name, is meant to provide enough mobility and firepower to keep a CSM team completely independant. Two of these TAVs consists of a squad, and four a platoon. So, let's begin.
The Conglomerate TAV. Next to it is a Salt Miner soldier in garrison wear, to compare size.
A view of its side. Also demonstrated is the axial 30mm autocannon, which performs ably on both armored and unarmored foes alike!
A back view, showing the troop carrier compartment.
The roof consists of three parts. Removing them shows the interior.
Now, with a team loaded in! With some modification, I hope to be able to fit three minfigs in the troop compartment. Currently, it can hold two soldiers.
I also had enough pieces to build two TAVs!
A convoy of Conglomerate TAVs is perfect for providing security, as these two can attest too. Don't these apartment buildings look safe and sound?
So, what do ya'll think? I give enormous credit to Roc and Silent-sigfig for their awesome vehicle designs, which this creation is based on. There's still some things to improve (Mainly the wheels), which will come in times.

Re: Conglomerate TAV
very cool, but The ASV is a heavily modified, and slightly improved, version of ROC77's. so credit where credit is due.
other than the ridiculously small wheels, this is great.

I'll make sure to edit the post, thanks. ^_^ And I'm going to replace the wheels when I can; right now, I really don't have any others.

Re: Conglomerate TAV
There seems to be a trend towards lightly armored APCs with few passengers. Not like that's bad or anything, just that it feels to me it either needs more carrying capacity or more dakka to be more effective. You'd be surprised how many minifigs you can squeeze in a tight space if you sacrifice comfort and make it a clown car or something.

Nice addition mate! hey would the Conglomerate be interested in being allies with the Coalition, Our top scientists have experimental interplanetary portaling tech in the works, and we'd be overjoyed to add a GAM* faction to our list of bro's

aslo: making open top troop carriers also cuts don on pice cost, and allow for more hilarious headshots.

As great as the armored car is, I want to see more pics of those lovely Cafe-Corner style buildings. Or maybe a batrep?

Re: Conglomerate TAV
The Conglomerate of Salt Miners is fairly low tech by Brikwars standards, and is based on a more low-intensity force. For the TAV, my intension was to make a vehicle that could be completely independant from other units. It's carrying capacity is low because it isn't a dedicated APC, and it's fire-power isn't going to be the highest. The idea is that these types of light vehicles would maximize the effectiveness of a team, not just a super-powerful box with wheels.Colette wrote:There seems to be a trend towards lightly armored APCs with few passengers. Of course, my view on this is completely skewed due to my experiences. I like Humvees way too much. ^_^
Thank you. I'll consider joining the Coalition, but I'm not sure how well the Conglomerate of Salt Miners would fit in. They're a pretty low-tech army, so we'd probably get owned by everyone. I'll think about it. ^_^Nice addition mate! hey would the Conglomerate be interested in being allies with the Coalition, Our top scientists have experimental interplanetary portaling tech in the works, and we'd be overjoyed to add a GAM* faction to our list of bro's

Those modular buildings are actually just two of five. I actually prefer building civilian modulars to military stuff, and I've been working on a little street scene when I got back home this summer. When I get the opportunity, I'll get some pictures up, though the interiors aren't too developed! As great as the armored car is, I want to see more pics of those lovely Cafe-Corner style buildings. Re: Conglomerate TAV
UPDATES TAV HAS BIGGER WHEELS
Also, I had enough pieces to build a TAV with ALTERNATE COLORS. Crewed by a mysterious team, the dark red TAV travels throughout the land, fighting the enemies of justice!
I have two Conglomerate TAVs and one mysterious one, for a total of three! ^_^ Unfortunately, I only have two sets of good wheels, so only two can be fully-assembled at once.

It almost could use bigger wheels. I think the top gun is fine though.

Re: Conglomerate TAV
I do want to increase the wheel size; I have some nicer spokes, but no actual tires to go with them yet. I do like the gun design, though I might make an alternate version with a larger gun. It's meant to be a 30mm autocannon, so I don't want anything to big.
