Directed energy weapons --> Bombs, especially when there are 8 Lance Lasers (Basically beam weapons on crack) firing on both ground and air targets.

It's just that the preferred target is ground, so it can get an easier shot on slower moving, non-airborne targets.

Nice job!

A good way to start with texturing is with a simple cube model.
Try planar mapping and create images to go on each face so it looks like that white cube on the Maya perspective view port.
Then try UV mapping and make one image with all those sides on it.

UV mapping is the only way you'll get a model into a game engine.
But if you'll never take it out of Maya any mapping will work.

Taa dude for the critism dude, tis appreciated - I'm going to keep working up the details on the beast before I attempt the texturing still, I normally use the UV mapping menu within Maya - but I have never worked my head around on faces on a model work on a UV map.

As for a game engine, I'm not too concerned about making a game - I can't wrap my head around code . . . what I might try is animating though - starting off with a simple battle or two once I have "converted" (IE - built) a few more models and then work my way up from there . . .

Waiting for things to render though, is a bitch - so If I do try this, don't expect me to be patient or happy until it is done.
