And my favorite, designed by our very own Mike Rayhawk. Just the size of this thing blew me away. I still have it sitting on the top of my shelves, 95% complete.
Wait... Stubby was on the Knights' Kingdom design team?

Hey I had that set too!
Also had the 2161 Aqua Dozer, but it wasn't nearly as cool as the Spy Shark or the Crystal Scavenger.

Yeah, they were all "let's make these knights different shades of gunmetal" and I was like "no way! you know what's really in this year? RAINBOWS"

Sarcasm it is then!

Seriously though, that theme wouldn't have been too bad if they hadn't have tried to copy Bionicle, only changing the color-coding by switching "Mystical Elemental Powers" with "Chivalrous Virtues"...

...And if they had a more diverse color palette for the heros of each good faction.
Honestly, the Mystic Knights each had better cromatic range, and they were a Power Rangers Knockoff!

Actually I joined the project about a week after the gunmetal-to-rainbows switch. I tried to convince them to either go back, or include more colors, but no dice. We did get better colors in the next couple years of sets though.

You want to see a Power Rangers ripoff, have you checked out the secret Green Ranger storyline in this year's Ninjago?

My oldest sets, but not my first are:

and

My dad rescued them out of my relative's trash for me. My first set was probably one of the 2004 medium-size bionicles.

True, thought they did return to the more traditional "Good Tints" verse "Evil Shades" the following theme, with the pretense that the previous team's rookie went on to become the King and was now fighting the remnant of the evil Scorpion guy's faction.
In other words, exactly like every other Castle theme where there were "bad guys".

Yeah, but at least Ninjago has a Gender-flipped CHAR and new awesome custom ninja uniforms.

And it's not like Lego cribbing Tokusatsu tropes is a bad thing!
After all, this is the same genre that gave us Godzilla.

...Speaking of Sentai, I whipped these guys up after seeing that awesome Power Ax that skeleton had in that 4chan battle report:

After watching the first few episodes, I've been skipping Ninjago.

I actually enjoy more season 2 ninjago than season 1. Samurai is boss, Nya is mai Shinji, and Pythor for president.
