The Mighty Hero
So, within the world of endless battle that constitutes brikwars, there are a great many varieties of hero minifigs. Out of curiosity, and regarding a project I'm currently working on, what (or who, if you have a specific hero in mind) are your favorite types of heroes? Farce wielding jedi, Knights in shining armor, necromancers, Matrix-wielders, one of the many scharzeneggars, bounty hunters, or something else entirely? List them here!

Re: The Mighty Hero
I like almost all heroes, really. I always thought melee-armed heroes in Scifi battles had a great deal of character, like Captain Alexandria (Brittanian hero from ZZD).
As for favorites,
The Dark Lord Lucian (I'd ninja one of FISH!!!'s pictures but they all appear to be broken) was a really cool, versatile hero that worked out well for me in Clash of the Tides.
I also liked Niol from Zahru's battles a lot much for the same reason, those paladin-types are always pretty fun to play. Unfortunately he suffered from Qui-Gon / Sean Bean disease.
And of course, Blaze Ironbreaker is thé badass from Zahru's battles

Re: The Mighty Hero
Recently, I've been playing a lot of Space Knight heroes, Alien Horror heroes, and Commando heroes, but they all tend to be pretty much the same thing (minus the alien clawing faces off). More often than not, it's just the guy on my team of dudes with the coolest armor on.
I used to use a bunch of Telekinetic and Psychic heroes, Robot/Cyborg heroes, and strange alien heroes.

Re: The Mighty Hero
My favorite fantasy-type heroes have been wizards and mages. They can be tricky, though, and should have more narrowly defined cliches; otherwise their feats just become any old "spell" that the player thinks up at the time. It's more thematically enjoyable to have narrow it to "time wizard" or "elemental mage" or "necromancer" etc.
In my sci-fi games, I've really enjoyed using a Space Knight Aristocrat hero. Deviates from the norm of super-soldiers that go blandly through the wash...

I like a wide variety of heroes, ranging from serious to comic relief, but if I had to pick, any Warhead sphincter is fun to play as.

Re: The Mighty Hero
I'm partial to actual superheroes with absurdly specific/embarrassing but powerful superpowers and matching costumes.

Re: The Mighty Hero
Brikthulu, Simho Hayha and Finlay the Fucka' have been my favourites to play as lately.
This sig is too fucking large: show anyway
Re: The Mighty Hero
My hero is a lot like John-117 of the Halo fame, with a few major differences.
6. He's about the same size as a 40k Space Marine.
7. He always keeps his visor up, even in space.
8. He's Scottish.

Ironically enough, the only Hero unit I've ever considered is for my droid army, Briktoid Automata...
...And it'd be an Astromech Droid...
Because, let's face it, R2-D2 is the most useful character out of the whole Star Wars franchise.

Chewbacca could do almost everything that R2-D2 could do and he could fight too.Whiteagle wrote:Because, let's face it, R2-D2 is the most useful character out of the whole Star Wars franchise.

Re: The Mighty Hero
In my opinion the best heros are those with well defined clichees and/or abilities. Otherwise you will quickly end up with boring insta-kill or unit-buffing (the latter are really popular as of late in forum battles) feats.
