Units and HP (new idea)

Post by kylerdtesch » Sun Aug 03, 2008 6:50 pm

I don't know if this has already been said but, i think it would be really easy to make and use HP tokens for larger Structures, vehicles, creatures, etc. for example you could say a vehicle thats 10" long requires 8 succesful hits to be taken down, every succesful hit you just add a damage token (put it on the units card {if you have one} or just write the objects name on some paper and write 1 hit, or add a token under it..) and once you have 8 tokens on it, it dies. that way theres less confusion about the amount of damage already done. This could be used if you wanted to make a Boss monster for an RPG or something, i made a sort of RPG where the Minifigs have HP, and so does the boss/ enemy figures. Its actually pretty fun and i wanted to know what you guys think of it.. thanks!

It's even easier to just attach damage tokens right on the model, or on its baseplate if it has one. That's the magic of Lego.

Wasn't there an optional rule like this in the '01 rules? I always liked it, but never got around to implementing it.

what i do for damage counters, is place a brick that looks like battle damage on the vehicle, or remove a piece from the vehicle. that way, it obviously took some damage, serving both to know how damaged it is, and also as an eye-pleasing detail.

I find that blood and fire make nice damage counters. The more blood splattered and burned something is, the more damage it's taken.

Lolyeah. I have a huge baggy full of fire, blood, and explosion pieces and I like to artistically decorate death scenes.
I think those stats only apply to non-Mexicans.

Yeah, duh. But does every Brikwarrior rip his scabs off and use REAL blood to decorate the battlefield? Oh yeah, baby.

real brikwarriors don't rip off scabs. real brikwarriors slash a huge gash in their arm and bleed on things. because pirates enjoy being cut.

A real brikwarrior would drink it. Then he would make his army drink it to fill them with blood lust.

Any real brikwarrior would actually use the knife to gash open their opponents' arms and have them bleed to death slowly on the battlefield. After that, get new opponents to finish the game. Rinse and repeat.

I love that video.

But ya know what I once did? I was cutting pizza on my birthday, but I put my hand underneath to stabilize but axi-dentally cut my middle finger real deep. So then it kinda hurt and was spurting lots of blood, and I went to the kitchen and axi-dentally dripped a lot on my gameboy. Anyway, at the emergency room, I was constantly flipping everyone off, like the doctor when he was stitching it up. (Hehe) And then I had a bloodstained gameboy, which was useful when playing Worms.

But seriously, I don't think anyone has really used real blood to decorate their battlefields. Although it is a good idea to stab your opponent and slam his head into the battlefield, I suppose more blood would come. And, if you rip off a real big scab, a lot of blood will spurt depending on where and how old it is.
I think those stats only apply to non-Mexicans.

no I don't use blood to cover the battlefield. I tend not to have wounds fresh enough at the time of brikwars for that to work. (and I don't feel like cutting myself for that purpose)

what I have done is written my name in blood on my copy the 2001 rules.
(accident happened involving a screwdriver and I figured I could use a dip pen to write my name in it.)
Act first, then think, then try to find a way to cover up the horrible mess you made.
