I remember only the vaguest details, mainly emotions. So my diary would be weird. I also get distracted by technical details so My dream diaries would be doodles of various things and notes about them.

Last night I honestly attempted to design a pump using materials that I knew I had and methods I could use, While avoiding pre-made parts.
Interestingly You can make a literal hand pump. Put your hands together so that your arms are at 90degrees (1/2pi radians) and clamp together firmly. Then keeping your fingers clamped move your palms away from each other and back again, you should hear a sucking sound and feel air coming out when you push together.
To make it a proper pump you need one-way valves.

The sticking point is the valves.

Ball valves are easier to make than a screw pump.
take a length of pipe (I'll use 1cm diameter for the example), cut a piece about 3cm long from it.
Cut a 40mm circle in the middle of two 1cm square metal sheets, and in one cut several small holes around this but leaving the central ring formed from the first cut and enough support to make it strong.
Put a 50mm ball bearing inside the 3cm piece and then solder/weld the one with one hole to one end(call it A) and the one with many holes to the other end(call it B)

when the fluid goes from A to B the ball bearing will move and lodge in the central hole of B but the fluid will go though the other holes. When fluid goes from B to A the ball bearing will move and lodge in the hole of A and block all water going though it.

The sticking point is that I don't have any sheets of metal or any pipe lengths to fabricate it from, and that's the challenge. It's mcgyver style, not 'if i had...' style.

Each radio is tuned to a disco station, which make the water molecules very angry and they start punching each other.
That makes the water boil.

All I can say is this thread is officially derailed.







Fun fact; The picture and video are linked! After the accident pictured, The entire K-class (from the picture) was rebuilt into the U-class (from the video!) because the accident was caused due to instabilities at high speed.
