Re: Diablo III
Yeah you're really arn't going to need the acution house until you get somewhere into the Hell setting. When you die so much and start questioning why you play such games and your exsistence in this world. All my gear now is rare, 65-70% from AH and the rest either from drops or from friends (it's good to play with others who are using different classes than you since they can give you loot they can't use). Also I found a monk amulet that everyone suggested I sell in the real money AH, seeing if that works out right now.

Re: Diablo III
I read about the real AH a while back and it seemed that you need a cell phone hooked to it for some reason?
I don't use one.

Re: Diablo III
The regular AH is part of the game no need to connect to anything, the Real Money AH connects to your PayPal. Btw, there are some real sick people out there on the real money one, I just sold an amulet for $200... Yes, no joke someone paid $200 cash for single virtual item....

Oh man.
Was that some hard to find legendary thing?
Do people sell lower level stuff there, level 15-40?

Re: Diablo III
Nope it just a rare amulet
223 Dex
82 Vit
36 Cold Resist
56 Resist All
Life Per hit +366
Crit Dmg 43%
Yeah you can refine your search pretty easily, for those lvl's. The market in reg AH is getting more & more flooded so prices should be good.

Re: Diablo III
Back when I played World Of Warcraft, there was this tie-in card game that had very rare loot cards, where you would scratch off a bit of gold foil and enter the card number into a special NPC. They ranged from semirare things that gave you fun consumable items, and very rare mounts, pets, etc. One giant red rocket mount card sold for $1500 on eBay.

Re: Diablo III
Oh I don't know, I haven't searched anything that low and I wasn't home last night. But I wouldn't spend money for gear honestly, especially anything below 60, you can lvl up pretty fast (arrat crater in act 3) and it will be useless pretty quick. MMORPG are different, at least you'll be playing that for years, I don't see myself playing this game 2-3 months from now, well, until the expansion releases...
Re: Diablo III
There's usually lower level stuff on there.
What I do is when I find I'm having a hard time, get rid of your lowest level item and get an item of your character level in the auction house. Make sure you search for more than 5 minutes and get something with at least equivalent stats. Also, stick to a plan with how you use your character and get items that compliment that. I haven't played Witch Doctor past like 20, so I don't know many good strategies.
But, for example:
My highest is a Revenge barbarian (Revenge attacks all nearby enemies for health, but you need to be hit for it to activate). I have items to increase the crit chance of Revenge specifically and also have life steal and life per hit. I also need less dexterity, so I can be hit by attacks more often and trigger Revenge, and tons of vitality to ensure I don't die from those hits, thorns to damage the enemies that are hitting me. All of these things I need specifically from items.

Re: Diablo III
So I was just looking into how to hook up the RealMoney AH to PayPal.
Seems you do need a cell phone with SMS.
Oh well I'm not buying a cell phone to do that.
Keeping the money at Battle.net means having an authenticator.
Free if you have a cell phone
$6.50 if you want the device
Seriously, I just paid $60 for a GAME, if I make a couple bucks off sales, fine.
No need for me to be wasting more real money protecting my virtual money.
Its just found money, if somebody stole it, I would like to think I wouldn't be swearing at the Hatredcopter.

Re: Diablo III
This is not a concern for everyone else in the world, because everyone has a cell phone.

Re: Diablo III
People like spending money on things they can't afford, like cell phones and SUVs.
Actually there are a bunch of people who have phones that this system wont work with.
One example:
If you had a Voip phone then switched your number to a carrier that would normally work, it wont because your phone number is flagged as Voip.
My bank doesn't need me to have a phone to make bank to bank transfers.
I've done 50k transfers, so I'm not terribly worried about 20 bucks.

Re: Diablo III
Yeah, it's because Blizzard has crappy security, and they shift the cost to us for authenticators. It's really BS, that they charge for the keyring. They make so much money from the transaction costs for trades they should be giving that crap out for free.
Re: Diablo III
My desire for this game almost outweighs that which I have for your mothers... almost.
