Re: Mgb's game sprites
If the game's set in the future, it look however you feel like.
Re: Mgb's game sprites
You would argue against multiple part iron sights on a .50 revolver when you're staring down said sights from the business end, would you?
Yes, as Zupponn has guessed, it is set in the future. It also is loosely inspired by Half Life.

Plus, as we discovered in chat, Doom the game, Doom the movie, Dwarf Fortress, Iji...
Re: Mgb's game sprites
But Half life most of all.

Where does that gun come from? I saw a drawing of it on DeviantArt, and some other guy made it in PMG, but I have no idea what it is.BFenix wrote:

It's a concept art gun I saw there too. Don't know for what it was though.aoffan23 wrote:Where does that gun come from? I saw a drawing of it on DeviantArt, and some other guy made it in PMG, but I have no idea what it is.BFenix wrote:

Another SMG.
Why so many guns lately? Because making the sprite for walking is stressful and it's not done yet. Still working on it, though.

Re: Mgb's game sprites
Making a decent looking walking sprite is difficult. The funny thing is that the ideas that don't look good image to image are usually the ones that look good in motion.
Re: Mgb's game sprites
Not flawless by any means, but I think it's sufficient, or will be once there are arms.

What do you mean, "That's not how firearms work?" Do you live on a space colony in a futuristic setting? One that exists in my PERSONAL imagination, for that matter?
But if you did, then you wouldn't be telling me how my FICTIONAL guns can or can't look, because as part of my imagination you would agree with me.
And more so, you missed the part of that that actually mattered:
And besides, the concept isn't really any different from having multiple lenses in a sniper scope lined up. The only difference is that it's the metal sights instead of glass lenses. So if your alignment was off, it's a little clearer where your shot will go.

In my opinion, it looks cool. There are other people out there who would gladly agree that it looks cool. But ultimately, since this is my brainchild, my opinion is the key factor.mgb519 wrote:mostly because it looks different.

Re: Mgb's game sprites
There should be a balance between looking good and looking functional.
